It's a nice thought, but if he was the type of person to turn on Ren Pa after 20 years because he was ordered to, he probably wasn't the type to flee from responsibility.
That's before you even get into his prestigious lineage and the implications for any family members he would leave behind.
More likely than not, he was arrested and then executed or ordered to commit suicide on the punishment of a painful execution and further reprisals to his family.
That said, I think Hara just forgot about the dude and/or cut out whatever he had planned to address his absence.

The fact that he wasn't just murdered by Renpa on the spot means that Hara had some idea to still use him in the future. If he was executed then I'm sure we would get that information in the manga right after the battle. Him moving to another state makes more sense to me, because right now states such as Yan and Qi don't seem to have that many notable generals while Zhao already have plenty. This way there's a possibility for one of those kingdoms to have an aditional talented officer without it feeling like an asspull.
