Why in your opinion did Sanji not sense it was a trap from the get go?

He did not sense it was a trap because him being aware would not lead to Robin's Entrance & speech, Sanji's cry for help, etc.. These were important moments that Oda would have had to shoehorn in had he not used Sanji for plot.

Just be real with yourself here. Your telling me that Sanji was able to sense a YC1, CoO MASTER's attack, but not some fodder that Sanji eventually offscreened? The 2 are clearly contradictory, a good showing and a bad; I think I'm going to stick with Oda's statement on Sanji's CoO specialty..

No, his CoO was always strong before he got caught by the trap, if I remember correctly he also heard the sound of Tashigi's tear hitting the ground from miles away. He also was able to locate the Sunny in the middle of the ocean.

In any case Oda himself noted Sanji's specialty in CoO so I don't think we should let an obviously plot-induced trap take away from this.

Luffy is also the only man on the island with Future sight, (also he is better than "CoA specialist" Zoro at CoA, being the only man on the island with internal destruction ryuo, so don't think I'm picking on Sanji).

the only reason sanji falls for black maria trap is because it was a women we all know how crazy sanji is when it comes to females he loses focus rush in head first without much thought like he did but if it was the other way around it would be a different story

people mixing something. why sanji need FS ? his speed and accelaration is more than Luffy . Sanjis CoO is proper for his character . large range and sensetive perceive is enough sanji to dodge everything. Luffy is slower compared to zoro and sanji .

the second mixing thing , if you want to use more senstitive CoO , you need to calm .
calm = sanji fighting style.
even if Luffy has CoO , he has yo calm against Kaido to use CoO . Possible or impossible . decide.
