Wow so you’re gonna go against all of zoros potrayal to surpassing Oden which was what 956 was bout to boost up luffy to compare to oden which hasn’t been the case in the manga

Zoro will surpass Oden as a swordsman when he turns Enma black.

But

Zoro's milestone will be to surpass is the best swordsman in Wano

That is what Zoro has been portrayed to do. Take Oden's sword, master it and maybe turn it into a black blade which will probably happen via fighting the best swordsman in Wano.

Luffy is the one who is responsible for defeating Kaido so ODEN's people can be in power and HIS son can take rule of the country as emperor, open the border's etc.

Zoro will play a major role by downing a YC as well as in some way or form getting revenge on Orochi for killing Yasui.

King is the strongest swordsman on the island until Zoro defeats him. Guess Zoro is stronger than Mihawk too since the next time they clash swords Zoro is supposed to defeat him, right?

I heard that he was confirmed as a swordsman in One Piece Magazine Vol.6, but i still don't understand why Zoro should fight King.

1. What makes you think that King is The Strongest swordsman in Wano?

1.King is confirmed to be a swordsman iirc
2.The only relevant samurai in Wano are the scabbards and Kyoshiro. They sure as hell won't be and aren't near King in strength as far as Yonko FMs are portrayed. And on top of that King is a Zoan. If he's already stronger than them as fighters in base then the gap gets higher in his hybrid form.

2. Why do people think, that he will fight King at all?

We know Zoro's dream. Defeating King brings him closer to that dream. Just like defeating Kaido brings Luffy closer to his. King will be an obstacle for Zoro to overcome. It's as simple as that, any other layers besides that will be added on by Oda as the arc progresses.

I mean you never know, maybe Kyoshiro will end up being Zoro's final opponent. But I doubt that as Orochi currently trapped and destroyed every bridge in Wano except the one that connects the rest of the country to the flower capital where the guy is currently guarding. Kyo might be going down early lol.

Either King or Kyoshiro are the likely candidates to be Zoro's limit pushing fight. But King is the stronger of the two so I'm betting on him right now.

Don't get me wrong, as much as i love Zoro and King, i don't want this fight to happen for few reasons:
1. No foreshadowing ( I hate fights "by chance" in OP, one and only foreshadowing for that fight is that King is a swordsman ).
2. Irrelevance of YC ( let's be honest, YC are not threat for MC anymore. We have at least 8 YC or more fighters in Alliance side and one man that stronger than any YC. It may change, then i will rewatch my opinion ).
3. Hypothetical participation of Zoro in fight with Kaido ( it has more foreshadowing than Zoro vs King ).
4. "The second Ryuma" stuff. ( OP Magazine said that "The Second Ryuma" is born and now in Wano, anyone with a brain know that it's Zoro. I want Zoro to shine, i want Zoro to prove all the the Wano that he is exactly that "second coming". I bet that half of Wano even don't know about King's existence or barely care about him and beating "some underling" won't prove anything ).
These are not all the reasons, but i think you understand.

Not for me. I want Zoro to do something much more important and relevant than this old "Oh, so you're the second strongest, huh? Then I'm your opponent". I got tired of this around Enies Lobby. I want him to round up samurais, i want him finally to somehow show to Wano that he's the "Second Ryuma" guy, i want him to do something cool and memorable not only for us, but for Wano citizens. King is strong, i don't deny that, but he's another no name guy, which no one cares about and if i'm not missing something, Zoro wants his name to reach the heavens. When will he start do it if not in Wano? I know that this is Luffy show now and Straw Hats besides him became pretty irrelevant, but c'mon Oda. The only scenario i see all of this, if King goes full "Rodan" rampage mode and starts to burn everything on his way, then Zoro shows up and after long fight kills him, thereby saving all Wano, then I'll be satisfied, but we know that Oda won't do it. Maybe i want to much, but who doesn't?

Don't underestimate King. He is not just "mere underling". He is Kaido's strongest subordinate.
A guy sharing his status was Luffy's biggest obstacle just 1 arc ago. And King is most likely stronger physically than that guy, Katakuri.

King also already got massive portrayal
1. Lol diffing half of Big Mom's crew with unnamed move and didn't get any injury from that encounter. Result: Big Mom fell to the sea and Perospero admitted himself it would be miracle if Big Mom survived King's assault.
2. Last person of certain race. A rare and hyped race that Big Mom doesn't have in her Totland.
3. Asked to join Big Mom Pirates just like Marco was offered to join Shanks.
4. Didn't get nervous around Big Mom and just flatly refused her invitation.
5. Just like Jack is famous in Kuri territory and Queen is famous in Udon, guaranteed King will be famous in 1 of other Wano's territory too.

Zoro's last opponents are Pica the high pitched clown and to take him down Zoro even got the help of Orlombus. Then Kamazou who is mentally sick thanks to SMILE.
Having a YC1 opponent like King is far from "not enough" for Zoro. If anything, it's the opposite.
