This scene is often misinterpreted.
Zoro is not putting Liffys dream above his own.
On the contrary.
What this scene really shows is:
Zoro says that if he is unable to even protect Luffys dream then his own dream would be impossible to reach anyways.
This makes it sound as if Zoros dream is above protecting Luffys in terms of difficulty.
"if I die here then I am a man who could only make it this far"
Zoro is well aware that he might not have what it takes to become WSS.
His willingness to sacrifice himself for Luffy only shows his compassion and that he is able to accept complete defeat. And nothing more.
If Luffy is then so is Zoro. he is part of the crew.
Same applies. which is rather obvious.
you could replace Luffy with the Sabaody version of Luffy as long as his crew is powerful and loyal enough he would still become PK.
Zoro and Luffys have the same journey towards Luffys PK goal. Zoro will assist Luffy in reaching it.
Zoros goal on the other hand is a solo effort. I imagine that he will meet the current WSS during their journey, but in Zoros case getting outside help to accomplish his goal is by befinition not possible.
both titles are not mutually exclusive.
Roger is a good example. people were assuming that Roger was his eras WSM. now we saw him fighting with a sword. he may aswell have been both at the same time.
irrelevant. there could be 1 other chasing Zoros dream or 10 trillion. it makes no difference. Mihawk is currently the peak. the benchmark.
getting past him makes you WSS. who ever else is competing has no bearing on this.
because you can not do it alone. it is a group effort.
unless you manage to assemble a powerful crew you will most likely not become PK.
this requireds more traits then just power. duh its harder to do.

Actually Zoro is kinda farther with Gap as there be people above his lvl like Kidd and Law (WB/Shiki), Smoker (Garp), BB (Xebec), and someone who be next 'Sengoku' lvl, but still debating on who. Zoro's stance is not above or even equal to his dreams and tier. Funny how desperate Zorotards are trying to push it despite Mihawk himself stated how stronger it is than himself. They like going for headcannons over Goda's headcannon end of the day lol.

WSS can be stronger than the PK from a theoretically point of view, but it doesn't mean that being PK is easier than being WSS.
One can become WSS singlehandedly like Mihawk did, but in order to become PK you need at least:
-a good crew with a PG reader, a skilled navigator and shipwright
-enter in yonkou territory and have enough luck to be able to sneak out the information. At worst you will have to fight with that yonkou.
Become the PK it's something that you can accomplish without being the strongest, but this doesn't mean it's something easy because a lot of other factors are needed

Zoro has never put Luffy's dream above his own. He simply did what was the best in the given situation.
There was no way out and the lowest amount of damage was by sacrificing his own head.
The only time Zoro has put someone else above himself and all other Strawhats was in Alabasta, when he deemed most important thing to be Vivi's survival, no matter what happens to the rest of them.

Even Luffy knows how small that title of WSS, Zoro agrees with because it's true PK >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> WSS. Zoro should do ''at least that much'' if he is going to be a swordsman in the Pirate King's crew.
