I wish we got more quality romance anime. Kaguya Sama is probably a top 5 manga and dominates every year for a reason.

Not that I dislike a lot of modern romance manga:
Nagatoro is fun after the first arc
Horimiya was immensely wholesome
Annoying senpai is cute and a fun watch
My dress up darling was a fun new concept too

But yeah it feels like there’s so few romance anime between two lead mcs and too many harems…

I don't understand hate towards kirito tbh.
In general Sword art Franchise does everything well except for Kirito Harem part ofc.

Only thing I liked about HxH is it's duel Protagonists Done right.
They focused on both the characters of Gon and Killua.
also Plot was shit to some extent except yorknew City arc. that was something top tier.
chimera Ant was average. OP Villains and I love how Enemy till the end remained the strongest.

SAOs biggest issue is the devaluation of Asuna. Her initial role as a peer and love interest of Kirito was great. She was skilled with the game and was a strong character.

That got immediately wiped from her character as she then became the damsel in distress, getting molested by tentacle monsters, and just kiritos wife who sees him being back more and more women.

Mothers Rosario was great for her, but beyond that she really got treated like trash.
