Spoiler Naruto ONE SHOT: Tales of Namikaze Minato Spoiler Thread

Minato is the worst at Sage mode compared to those who have mastered it, like Naruto or Kabuto.
Him saying "I can't maintain it for long" doesn't mean anything unless we know who he's being compared to, maybe Minato just has very high expectations for himself and maintaining it for five minutes it considered bad to him, who knows.

It doesn't change that he literally just blinks and is suddenly a perfect Sage, which is just as good if not better than Naruto during the Pain Arc.
Anyway, all this is predicated on the assumption that Fukasaku was talking about Naruto surpassing them in Sage Mode as oppose to in general, but I don't see why that wouldn't have been specified if it was the case, instead we get a general statement about him surpassing them.

It’s a really weird decision to argue with the author over his own words, but have at it. Argue at Kishi’s exact words in plain English, idgaf

That's...literally what you're doing though...

I'm taking Kishimoto's words exactly how they're written, ya'll are trying to find deeper meanings to them lol.
You wrote a praragraph to cope about Minato admitting he can’t use Sage mode in a timely fashion due to how long it takes him to gather senjutsu and how he can’t hold it for long either lol. Literally denying the authors words, which are mostly used as a cover up for why Minato hasn’t been using Sage mode the entire time like Hashirama.

In response to paragraphs upon paragraphs from several people about how "Naruto boy has surpassed his predecessors" doesn't mean Naruto has surpassed Minato/Jiraiya.
:kayneshrug:

No, Sky is literally saying the toad sages saying Naruto surpassed his predecessors meant he was stronger than them when they probably just mean Naruto was able to perfect Sage mode unlike them. TAC was showing that Minato in fact never perfected Sage mode
Even I would say they only meant sage mode
:sanmoji:

So you're doing exactly what TAC said essentially

Kishimoto's exact words: "Naruto has surpassed his predecessors"
You: "Well actually, it just means he has better Sage Mode than they do!!!"
:seriously:

You know how I know I’m right, because right before this Kakashi said something similar when Naruto perfected the rasengan

And then A goes ahead and say Naruto isn’t as good as Minato

It’s almost as if Kishi is keeping Minato as a goal in terms of skills/techniques. And not every time Naruto surpasses him in one means he stronger.. :kobeha:

If your interpretation was correct then Fukasaku would have said something like, "Naruto has surpassed them as Sages", but no, it's a general statement of him surpassing them overall.

And the Raikage never said that lol
