Yamato joining SHs became obvious for few reasons

1) Relation with Ace and having Oden journal

2) Her relevance kept on growing as arc progressed. Joyboy vs kaido literally focused on momo and yamato reactions which in itself speaks for yamato significance

3) Most importantly, Yamato has no one left now. This is very important. Vivi didn't join because she had whole Kingdom to handle thus lots of responsibility despite having best moments with SHs

Yamato spend her life like she was in prison. She had hope on Ace but she lost him and now with kaido defeat she has no where to go.

One can say she can stay in wano but that's pointless because yamato wants to be free and what's best than following Luffy who himself cherish Freedom.


Her becoming nakama became more and more obvious as story progressed.


There is nothing to argue against this.

i felt the interaction was very weak tbh. the first time yamato interacts with the mugiwara and there was not one funny or interesting interaction. the part where she says they look weird and someone replies about her horns was like oda trying to say 'she fits believe me' i hope the interactions improve because the first one was very dull

I think the problem stems from To much going on in this chapter, I think this should have been easily 2 chapters worth of content, and it was squeezed into 1.

You reaction is perfectly normal and really.. it's logical. That interaction is not supposed to be exceptionnal. THe whole thing is just to setup a change of mind from Yamato.

Carrot's moment is depicted as an exceptionnal feat, something amazing. With characters on the side amazed and reacting accordingly.

On the other end, Yamato fighting Kaido is just depicted as a moment of tension but nothing particularely amazing. The paneling is completely different.

That's the difference between a simple "good feat" and a SHining Nakama action.
