Vivi is the only one that makes any degree of sense to me, Oda is even bringing Crocodile back to the spotlight and we also got the Pluton pay off in Wano. Its all coming back to Alabasta

Maybe. I need another strawhat chapter to be really sure that there are no curve ball. Unless Oda has something huge prepared for Carrot at the end of the story and war, that "you are the leader now" don't make sence to me.

I've always felt that Jinbe must properly join before Carrot can, and he still needs his commemorative toast. That won't happen until Luffy's time-out ends so he can lead it. And that may be Carrot's best chance to pop up and join in.
