Blackbeard is smarter than luffy he is more cunning than he is and he likes plain things out. Throughout story from what have seen from blackbeard he has a short amount people alongside with him just like Luffy when he first started on his journey. Later in the series they both have the same amount members join there group. In a lot ways Blackbeard pirates are the evil version or mirror images of the straw hat pirates. Take for example psycho rangers from power rangers in space or the delightful children from down the lane. In some media there dark version of characters in some series. They have been shown to have same amount member of team to fight against the Protagonist and there team in the show. Oda has always display the blackbeard pirates as evil counterparts to the straw hats

The earliest i remember was Franky vs Paulie, then came Perona, then the Jinbe hate (too strong, too fat, he is gonna die and so forth), before Jinbe people latched onto Hancock, and then what Van said.
O.G. ten entails eleven Strawhats though.
Luffy said 10 nakama, he is not included in nakama obviously. There is not any room for interpretation in that statement at least, whether Oda is gonna stick to it or not is a different issue.
But more recently he also said nakama are gonna join consecutively, which once again supports the idea that Wano will have a joining.

Yamao's fate is really sealed.
First Kinemon the old guardian died. Then we have Kaido literally confirmed that her DF is the Guardian Bitch of Wano.
As usual with the ongoing OP's inherited will theme, she will inherit Oden's will.
Oden already successfully went to Raftel so Yamao accompanying Luffy to Raftel won't gain much to her as her Oden cosplaying.

To be honest i might be wrong about carrot joining the crew but i still think she has a case because we truly do not understand what is her role in the story. Most of charater who were with the straw hats has a real narative reason to do so. Carrot different from them. The only exception were johnny and yosaku but we were a the begining of the story so it does not matter. We cannot say she will not join until we understand what is her role in the story. We are at wano arc the climax of the story. Her character and subplot cannot be pointless.
See this is the problem I have with Carrot fans, they themselves don't know why she should join. Every character that join had a clear important role in the story

Yamato inherited Oden's will, she could finish what Oden had started with the Pirate King's crew.
See? It's not that hard to see a reason why Yamato will join. With Carrot, even if she inherited Pedro's will it has nothing to do with playing a major role with the Straw Hats, it's about supporting them with bringing the dawn, something she could do as part of the mink army.
We also have to take into account that Carrot's backstory is done, Yamato hasn't even started. We could learn something of her that will lead to her having a major role in the story

First to make it clear despsite the apparence im on the side that both will join the crew. Luffy does not like yamato pretending to be oden. For all we know luffy do not care about the d clan and being someome important. In the end of the day yamato just want to go on adventure and sail, she not going to pretend that she Is oden forever. Her reason to be with the strawhat would not be that much important or different than those of carrot.
Most incriminating thing about Carrot is that she was happy in Zou. There was no conflict, she wasn't an outcast and there's nothing in her past that particularly shaped her into who she was by the time she meet the SHs.
Instead, the argument is that for the first time, just for Carrot, Oda will completely develop and change SH candidate during the present.
