Yes this is sexism. And the fact is that you can't see it. It's not surprising, most of the fanbase is cribbled with toxic masculinity. So I don't expect you to see it.
But I won't stop calling people out. Because sexism is a PROBLEM in our community and it has to be fixed & it doesn't look like you will try to put it down.
The only reason you wouldn't be only a "bit" sexist is because there is a relentlessness to bash Carrot and not Shiraoshi. So going with the flow will make you even worse, that's all. But those are the same things (if you use the same tactics)

Oda did not do the same thing. In the two example you gave me, Oda did not make a subversion dialogue. In other words he didn't corrupted the premiss with the way the statetment was delivered.
In Yamato's case, he did. By the fact that the statetment was not a question and based on a false logic, Oda corruptedthe premiss of Yamato's statement. Making it a subversion dialogue, something that the reader is suppose to believe will happen, but won't or in a completely different manner.
In other words, there is still a possibility for Yamato to join but she would need toask Luffy and give him another reasonning.
Not the one of the toxic fanbase. It's at the opposite of the virilistic "agenda". This is no surprising that people who likes Carrot are more "sensitive", more tolerant (with exceptions) and less toxic. Carrot is a more sensible character, all in subtility, joyfull, focused on the journey and not a fighting magnet. Carrot is a steretype indeed (not really tho) but completely at the opposite of the toxic agenda. Even her Sulong form prioritize wonder and magic over power and strenght. Carrot's stereotype is at the opposite of the usual female ideal in One Piece, she is loud, she screams, she garchus, she jumps everywhere, she doesn't care, she is naive as F. (in a good way), she is not intelligent or beautiful like Nami or Robin.. she is just "cute".
Carrot is everything a toxic man hate, "a girl who is not at her place" (you will see that comment in that thread). She is the little devil in the shoes of those guys.. because she is a cute bunny teen, loved by furries who doesn't do much... but DARES staying with the heroes and have a nice relation with them.
Those guyz who LOVE Yamato only because they can place her in the top 30 can't relate to Carrot.. after all.. she is just "too weak". She is "boring".. she is "blant".. she is .. what now?
After all.. What do they have in common with her? Nothing... Even their view on the story has lost all it's wonder and all the kindness is gone. Toxicity and the strenght centered vision has clouded completely their opinion of One Piece.
So what better way to feel better, that to bash the girl who represents all of that.
