1. That's not a wild conclusion to arrive to.
2. Again, Oda likes to have people talk about his manga. It's not about misleading but instead keeping the conversation open.
3. I said this has more to do with the fact that Momo and Yamato are two characters who's dads were rivals yet they picked up traits from one another's parent. Oda clearly wants Momo and Yamato to learn from one another, and I think that ultimately leads to them going on their own separate paths.
Kinda funny that now the misleading argument is a bad one considering that's all Carrot fans had been talking about since Yamato was introduced
Misdirection is only bad depending on how it's used. What's more likely to be the deception in this case:
1. That Oda has a brand new character randomly blurt out as an offhand comment that she will join Luffy. A statement which the latter has not shown any support of.
2. Yamao's entire on screen existence contributes to building her new relations with Wano bound characters
For one of these, Oda can effortlessly have Yamao blurt it out any time he chooses. Meanwhile, the other is only possible through chapters upon chapters of relationship focus and development.
