Nice and simple - Who is it that brings the promised, long-awaited Dawn to the world of One Piece?
Luffy, right? Or is he?
As we have seen, when it is left to Luffy, like in Wano, there was no promised Dawn moment.

No rays of sun on the faces of common folk that fear the return of Orochi and Kaido after the Fire Festival.
There was no payoff for the >you shall know the brilliance of the Dawn line that Toki promised...
Speaking of Toki... Remember her? Talking about failure...

Luffy didnt bring the brilliance of Dawn to Wano, neither did Momo who brought news that Orochi and Kaido have been vanquished.
There is Luffy's straw hat that looks like a half-revealed Sun and he is also the personification of freedom and thus the Sun god.
However, there are things that lead me to believe that Luffy is not the Dawnbringer...

Those two things are Night and Dawn.
The world of One Piece is, metaphorically speaking, engulfed in a long night since VC so for the Dawn to come, Night needs to be defeated.
Sounds like the job for the Cartoon Jesus, the ultimate liberator who gets all the credits, even those he has nothing to do with, right? Maybe.
However, the two crucial things, Night and Dawn, are not connected to him.
They are connected to Zoro.

That leads me to believe that it is Zoro who is the Dawnbringer instead of Luffy.
He is the Demon God who carves the path for Luffy's sun to shine.
There can be only one!

So, why is Zoro a Dawnbringer instead of Luffy?
Because, funnily enough, Zoro's own name means hero of the golden dawn. Or simply means Dawn in Slavic, Arabic and African.
Another funny thing is that the Night has a form, the strongest weapon in the world that Zoro needs to surpass, Mihawk's Yoru.
Yoru literally means Night and Zoro who means Dawn has to beat it. Dawn versus the Night, fight of all fights with unparalleled build-up.

There is also another thing, Mihawk's own name - Dracule. Dracula is the lord of the night, the ultimate predator.
He is also, coincidentally the only character left with World's Strongest title and wields the strongest weapon called Night.

We know that when two Conquerors clash, the skies split.
Either the clouds create a border between the two or they clear the skies by blowing the clouds away.
However, what happens when the Dawn and Night clash? Will there be an even superior show-off between the two World's Strongest?
Never before have two Black Blade users clashed in all of history. What will be the result? Another meaningless sky split or more?

In the end, we get back to original question about who the Dawnbringer is...
The guy whose name means Dawn and who will literally cut through the sword named Night? Japanese character from land of rising sun?
Or the Brazilian character, the laughing Looney Toon?

What do yall think?
Short thread this time but still made me hungry... I want pancakes.

lmao the thread made me laugh too hard :gokulaugh::gokulaugh:
The MC in this series is the beginning the middle and the end of the story.
It is funny indeed when you have Zoro and Mihawk, the representatives of Dawn and Night, and you still push Luffy's nose where it doesnt belong. I wanted to show that Oda is incapable of putting together a storyline that doesnt involve Luffy despite things like Zoro being Dawn and Yoru being Night. The fandom has already made peace with low tier writing that we are getting. :milaugh:

I will have to disagree with you on this (not completely). The Zoro vs Mihawk night and dawn thing is there (didn't know Zoro means dawn in some languages) but the overall prophecy, chosen one shit points to Luffy. Luffy being the Joyboy thanks to the DF and the DF having its own will is some real chosen one shit.

Two things though, the dawn which was supposed to be with the opening of the borders never happened because Momo (important) chose not to go along with it, Zunesha came all the way just to bear witness to Nika/Joyboy resurrection. And the SHPs (even Luffy) are not the only special ones in the story, Shirahoshi and Momo (especially Momo) seem pretty important and special as well. There are local heroes in most arcs like Dalton and Kyros but Momo and Shirahosi and Vivi too seem more than just local heroes, plus they are all of royal lineage.

And for the dawn that is talked about, Mihawk does not seem to be that kind of antagonist (doesn't seem like one at all) narratively. This can only happen if Mihawk turns out to be Imu's son - RHM etc. which has like zero chances imo.
