Aramaki was right about Wano this shithole and the people who lives here deserve to burn. Unironically Kaido might be a better ruler than their stupid samurai clans who keep burning people because they're born in the wrong family.

:kailaugh::doffyou::cheers::ace:

Kaido could have been the ultimate Broni (HOLD UP), Kaibro or w/e. I unironically wanted him to get the Enies Lobby Robin treatment and find a will to live after meeting the real Joyboy in Luffy and regaining his will to live and dreams. Becomes the guardian deity of Wano like he was meant to with his fruit and either dies defending it or lives to defend it with his ironically Oden simping offspring too. I'm a sucker for redemption arcs and remorseful villains. Villains becoming anti heroes or good even.

Seriously though, imagine Oden surviving and defending Wano with Kaido? As if Ryuuma wasn't enough of a threat and hell for the WG before? LMAO!

Big “say something without saying anything” energy coming from the last two sentences there…we live in a society, but not one dumb enough to think “Kurozumi (an entire clan’s name) was born to burn” means “Kurozumi was born to burn, unless it’s Tama, she cool lol” :gonope:
That's probably why he mentions that if people in Wano find out she will still be persecuted.

Oh for fucks sakes, Oda is saying if you pay attention to Hiyoris story, you would realize SHE believes only Orochi should burn. Shes not the type who would hold O-Tama responsible for the sins of their family, as that's exactly what happened to her family.

That's just Hiyori, but how would others react if they found out about Tama being a Kurozumi. It's an issue that not only plagues our World, but one that plagues the One Piece World.

It's gotten so bad, that even Oda is starting to tell fans to pay more attention.... :kobeha:
They really don't like paying attention though

I’m so glad Goda decided to put this and Zoro’s lineage in the sbs instead of the manga. Otherwise we wouldn’t have had enough panels of goated Raizo vs Fukurokujo fight. Peak fiction :finally:
Raizo vs fukurokujo was better than any of this boring shit would have been.

No shit, but since they’re all fictional characters, the way the statement lands with them isn’t as important as how the people following the story perceive it. What’s the point of Oda paying lip service to the readers about the “StAtE oF oUr SoCiEtY” on the heels of saying a child would be persecuted in-universe even though the rest of us outside of it know she shouldn’t be?? Who is that kind of basic ass commentary for?? :kaidowhat:

Honestly, I was always under the assumption that Orochi and Kanjuro were the last two Kurozumi*s left.

This speaks volumes about the type of man Kozuki Sukiyaki is though.

When the Country persecuted the Kurozumi, he took Orochi in.

After being betrayed and dethroned by the same Kurozumi he took in, he then went on to take in O-Tama.

Perhaps with these kind of principles, and under Sukiyaki guidance, Momo can truly change the Country.
would have been a great shogun if he was stronger
but his kindness also allowed him to be taken advantage of.

Now that I think about it his son was similar and thats exactly what kaido took advantage of.

From these:

To Wano being a country most filled with Akainus basically. No better than the WG and Marines they isolate themselves from originally.

Trying to genocide a whole lineage for generations, wiping put everyone in the same clan because of the actions of one person.

I hate the people of Wano so much l, (ironically hating on haters I know) and if I could or had to choose a country to get destroyed, especially instead of Lulusia too, it would be Wano ideally. (Get Tama, Toko, Carrot, The Dukes, Kinemon, Momo out of there at least).

But I just wanted the people of Wano to abandon their hatred, to start over, rebuild the ashes of their extremely vengeful and self destructive history.
Wano just seems like its own microcosm of the WG in OP though.

Due to his kindness/innocence/sincerity etc I do feel and hope Momo will make Wano a better place gradually or be the kick-start to it at minimum.

I'm getting such Deja Vu to Pain in Naruto too. But Naruto has tried to make his world better and bring world peace at least too, uniting the nations that were constantly enemies of each other, hostile as a result and been in brutal global and more localised wars with each other too.

I hope Wano can change for the better. I mean it has survived many centuries through its extreme isolationism and thus xenophobic/racist ways (sigh) but it definitely is a metaphor for Japan itself IRL too ofc. IIRC, the Japanese and maybe the Chinese have some sub cultures/clans or whatever that believe in cursing ENTIRE generations of people, past and especially future for the "sins" of their current relatives or w/e? So if I pissed them off for example somehow, they would probably curse my ancestors and thus everyone who lived in my family before me and slso who is still alive BUT especially myself and any future generations of my family including my own potential children, grand children, their own eventual potential future children and thus descendants and so on.
I feel this cycle of hate thing in Wano especially but also how the Kurozumi were hunted entirely is a nod to this by Oda.

Nice Lee, an actual complaint!

He shouldnt have tried to create an Oden/Kurozumi parallel in the first place.
Pretty tonedeaf to leave that fact and then not actually clarify in the manga...to a lesser extent with Kiku/Izo, Zoro/Ryuma, but those are very different.
All of our complaints have been real.
But I think Wano was the last bad arc. Oda cant afford to be lazy now.
