Seeing the ending again does kinda make it better for me, in retrospect. People complain about how she didn't use Haki and shit, but she clearly didn't consider that she was losing and that does change things.

Also we’ve seen that Luffy is more than willing to use G5 without ACoC

Linlin only used ACoC at the very end to try to deflect DP. Why then? Because it was the only point at which she was in danger of losing.
BM used most of her arsenal throughout the fight. ACoC was the one thing she held back on and didn’t use until she was on the verge of losing. This makes sense. Seldom do characters fight at 100% all the time.

All things said, Kids and Law should have only been 1.5 billion. I know Oda wanted them to look like rivals still to Luffy. But he finished Kaido by himself...and they got beat shortly afterwords, so that whole image surely ended quickly.

Well at least have Kaido being the main antagonist with him making some decisions and not being overshadowed by Orochi for most of the arc, his personality and motives being developped more, as well as his relationship and dynamics with his crew, as well as the dynamics and interactions between the Beast Pirates as a whole. The Beast Pirates have more actual development and dynamics. Kaido's past and his ties with Wano, why he chose to go there, and with the Oni and the formation of the Beast Pirates are shown.

Kaido isn't that obsessed by Oden, whose flashback should be shortened and no retarded naked dance or people blindly worshipping the ground Oden walked over. Also less Scabards and Kaido won his fight with Oden fair and square with Oden injuring Kaido but losing to his hybrid form.

Big Mom and her crew aren't present and are saved for Elbaf.

Less plot armor and actual tensions and sense of danger coming from the Beast Pirates and their allies with Kaido and the Calamities being shown as awakened, Jack having a better hybrid form than this ugly centaur-like form, and him and Queen showing real haki, the Flying Six showing and using haki as well. Who's Who's hybrid form is also smaller and slimmer form and he has a different opponent while Jinbei faces Jack. The Smiles users and Numbers are presented as a threat at least to the less powerful alliance members and aren't defeated or tamed by Tama so easily.

Kaido's defeat is a team effort from the Supernovas. And of course no Nika, and no "I am Oden" shenanigan with Yamato, if she's even included in the first place.

1. It probably would have been better if Kaido *was* the Shogun and his forces are the pirates and the samurai.

2. I think the cheap shot wasn't too bad an idea as it has the thing of Kaido hating he had his duel interrupted.

People coping that Big Mom "didn't use ACoC" is silly in my opinion. Even now, we can hardly distinguish when ACoC is being used. She has it, so she probably used it.

It is very clear that neither Kid nor Law would have a chance at beating Big Mom in a 1v1 -- Law was dealing the heavy, lethal damage and Kid was the one actually boxing and distracting Big Mom which ultimately gave Law those openings in the first place. Without either one present, it would have been a very different fight.

It seems people underestimate the power of numbers advantage just because fodders like the Scabbards can't combine to defeat top tiers.

Let's also not forget that Big Mom had both Kid and Law at death's door and simply needed to finish them off, but then she turned her back to them and let her guard down. A perfect PIS moment.

imo the fact the trio all had the same bounty is a big indication that Luffy’s fight with Kaido wasn’t a true 1v1. Luffy got help from:

• The scabbards
• the other rooftop supernova
• Yamato
• the heart pirates and momo(saved him from drowning, fed him, and brought him to the roof again)

Yes Luffy did more than his rivals, which is why he got the Yonko title in addition to the bounty boost.

Both Kaido and BM were not defeated by Luffy, Law, Kidd or any of the other people involved in fighting them.
In the end they died to outside forces that were not under the control of anyone participating in the fight.

Roger got his bounty for knowing what One Piece is. Its one of the most dangerous things to the WG.
WB got his bounty for being the top dog on the sea.
3b for Luffy? For what? He could not even kill a Yonko in a team fight without further outside help. BB at least took WBs turf by force and made the WB Pirates his bitch.
Law and Kidd getting the same for double teaming an old hag just to get curbstomped on the next island in a 1v1.
