Wasn't Ashura used at Sabaody against the Pacifista? That aside, Law's been throwing off Kaido a lot on the roof, saving people from Kaido's swings and now he swapped himself with Zoro to land a pretty good hit. I don't think Kaido was saying Law's hit was stronger, simply the nature of Law's power is tiring for Kaido to have to deal with.
Overall, I thought Ashura did well. Zoro left a permanent scar on Kaido and he might not even be done this arc. Zoro's been doing great on the roof. Only issue I can think of is Oda choosing this same chapter to have Luffy tell Law and Zoro to go down right before he knocked Kaido down. But it is what it is.

It certainly has an air of just being a decent way of getting rid of him( not so much even Ashura didn't make Kaido fall despite supposedly leaving a scar but a sandal kick make Kaido fall ... again logic when it comes to more dmg) from the rooftop which I personally dislike a lot.
Cuz despite getting feats himself it felt like a void when it comes to his building in Wano and his subplots.
Hopefully the 5 SN returns later in the arc to the rooftop.

The main problem I have is it appearing in one page, like... 1 page. I am satisfied with Zoro's feat, the only thing I don't like that much is the reactions in the verse. The Asura with Law's shocked face who didn't say not even a single word, and Kaido saying "well yes; it will leave a scar, anyways, who is hungry? Oh and btw, do you also have CoC?
And then we have him blocking hakai with a thx from Kidd, Law asking him if he is alive and both Yonkos not even knowing what happened. I just feel like they don't give him props.

Holy shit, I have never realized this before, but you got that right! In every named chapter of SHs, they attacked their arc opponent:
Monkey D. Luffy -> Luffy Red Roc Kaido.
Demon Child -> Robin Gigantesco Mano Maria.
Tanuki-san -> Chopper Kokuto Parme Queen.
Zoro's named chapter will really be ZKK! :cheers:

Perhaps one thing Oda could of done better was not letting Luffy spell those words about Kaido because the classic simpletons started screaming that ZKK is 100% dead when instead Luffy's words open for interpretation since he never ordered Zoro not to return or inferred that he would solo Kaido, let alone eventual situations where he will be in danger and Zoro will instinctively attempt to rescue him as long as he can return to the battlefield. Big Mom is still pretty active and healthy as a matter of fact.
Oh man, I got hyped by the spoilers saying Kaido commented on Zoro's Asura having COC until I've seen the scans. To my disappointment Zoro's Asura didn't have the overflowing black lightning that aCOC attacks have. Make no mistake, I think what he has done in the roof have been the most impressive of all the roof supernovas bar Luffy's aCOC and I think blocking combined attack of two Yonko and Asura on Kaido are two of greatest feat in One Piece but I kinda share the same opinion of the og. I've been waiting for the day Zoro goes all out and shows Asura again and oh boy what a sight it was. However, I felt it was overshadowed by Oda showing what seems to be the meta for the top players in the same chapter. Tss.

Then in next chapter, Kaido will be shown suffering and being weakened by the attack temporarily until the awakening of what seems to be the strongest zoan fruit kicks in. With Kaido recovering and showing again that he didn't seem to take damage at all like what he's been doing after taking attacks after attacks, Luffy would start his first aCOC moment knocking Kaido down.
On the other hand, I'm hopeful that after Oda takes Zoro out very early, this would mean he's going to have another shining moment by the end of the arc that would atleast match the hype I felt on his performance in the roof battle. I wasn't disappointed with Zoro in 1010. I also believe that the spoilers for the chapter can lead to people over hyping a feat. That over hype also leads to people down playing the feat to an extreme.
It is unusual to have Zoro "out" completely when other fights haven't been established fully. Zoro still needs to turn one of his blades black. I am expecting that to happen during his named chapter.

He didn't get shafted at all. They are just dealing with a much stronger Kaido with more at stake so everything's been taken up to a higher level. What was impressive isn't as impressive as it was in the past.
I've actually cover most what you talk about is some my other post so I'm going to post that here.
Without the new thing I would add is it's going to be the difference between being Law Zoro's asura mode attack.
When Kaido was hit by Law's attack it didn't even slow him down. He continued fighting and called Law's power troublesome.
It's kind of interesting because when Kaido was talking about Zoro's sword, enma, certain fans gave Zoro's achievements to the sword yet, when Kaido talks about Law's DF power they they are quiet.
When Zoro cut Kaido he may not say as much as you wanted him tay but the scene and Kaido's body language says it all.
We can tell from Kaido's face when Zoro cut the attack caused him a tremendous amount of pain.
When Kaido's examining his injury he's shaking and trembling. He didn't have the furious look on his face when he calls out the Zoro and he still. Kaido is still shaking and trembling when he tells us Zoro's attack believer scar.
After he performs his thunder attack we see Kaido is now huffing because his injury he sustained from Zoro.

The reason I said that is because until Wano is over Zoro has the opportunity to grow stronger. I believe he will. Zoro won't sit on the sideline and do nothing for the rest of Wano. Luffy just went from exhausting him against beast Kaido to fighting 1v1 hybrid Kaido.
Second, Oda has taken everything up a level and feats that were impressive are still impressive but not as impressive anymore. Especially when it comes to hurting or cutting Kaido.
All of the Scabbards can cut and injury Kaido. If they can do that than Zoro, who's stronger than any of them, can do the same. That's why cutting Kaido is no longer as impressive as it was in the past.
That takes us to the power to scar Kaido. I believe Zoro can Kaido without needing to use his 9 sword style. His flying dragon blaze scared Big Mom and Kaido. There would be no need for them to be that concerned about the attack if it couldn't at least scar Kaido. I think his death lion song attack could do the same. As we saw from Oden's battle, just scarring Kaido is not enough to defeat him.
That brings us to the reason Zoro used his 9 sword style attack. That was either his strongest or one of his strongest attacks and it gave Zoro his best chance at defeating Kaido. Zoro was getting close to running out of energy so he knew it was better for him to put the rest of his energy into one attack that could give him a chance to defeat Kaido than use weaker attacks that won't. The crazy thing about it was Zoro was severely injured and weakened so that makes Zoro look even more impressive. Zoro's asura showed incredible speed, he blocked every single one of Kaido's attacks, strength, and power, he permanently scarred him with the attack.
That was against hybrid Kaido. Who is much stronger now. Oden very faced hybrid Kaido.
When we look at it all we can see that Oda is moving beyond scarring Kaido and towards killing Kaido. That will be the only way to defeat Kaido. That why I believe Zoro is moving away from Kaido right now. Oda needs to give Zoro the opportunity to grow strong enough to kill Kaido. Like Luffy had time to grow strong enough to fight Kaido 1 on 1.
When I look at Zoro surpassing Oden I'm not just looking at AP. I'm looking at all of their powers, skills, abilities and more. Zoro has shown incredible speed, strong defensive power, barrier haki, strength, and endurance. The only thing Oden has over him is greater AP. That will be surpass soon.
It's very clear to me that Zoro will (or has) surpass Oden. I haven't even mentioned creating a black blade.
PS: Since Zoro has CoC haki that's another area Zoro can grow stronger and surpass Oden in.

I have realized that CoC haki was the other important power Oden used that made him so strong and feared.
