On the other side we have Linlin. She more or less prisoned her own family on her islands, she kinda is the upfront display of a mother destroying adventures.
Yeah thats definitely so true about her being used to show how mothers are the antithesis of adventure. guess Oda wanted to use her to show how toxic and controlling mothers can be, she was overprotective like a lot of mothers too but not for her children's safety but just to not be alone and abandoned like she was before.
In a weird way, BM and her arc kinda remind me of Magellan and Impel Down. Similar themes of keeping people prisoner and preventing escape, being chased by an unstoppable tyrant and getting allies to help protect and save you and such lol.
I do really enjoy Oda writing about themes and symbolism like that though.

Where the fuck would even a Rogue flashback take place now?? There’s no relevance to any character rn
There's a theory shes related to Nami or at least a hefty parallel by Oda deliberately but idk otherwise. Its probably not gonna happen at all now, its all in the air and just a blind guess at best. Oda doesnt seem to care about Rouge. I really hope theres some kind of heaven/afterlife in the OP world (its implied as we have souls and a real underworld mentioned by Brook and such) and thus we might get Ace reuniting with his parents there and they will finally see him grown up and he will get to meet them properly and get to know them too. It will be one ofthe greatest moments in manga, dare I even say fiction history and especially in One Piece too!
Roger even had a sword called Ace too, wtf was that all about?!

I'm hoping we still will see more of Roger but I doubt it anymore as his flashback within Odens felt very climatic and meant to wrap up his story? Its more about Joyboy, Imu, Xebec and Rocks Pirates these days?
We do need to see why Roger teamed up Garp vs Xebec though, what actually happened and I'd love to know more about Roger's life and what inspired those comments by Rayleigh about babies/children when holding Oden's kids too. I feel there's still a lot more to see and know about Roger, he started off the story/current events with his actions and I feel he's becoming overshadowed now gradually which is so disheartening to see. Roger was my most hyped character for this series followed by Mihawk and Shanks.
We might get something if Oda remembers Scopper exists and he appears and gets screentime like Rayleigh did but idk at this point. Did Rouge did from childbirth or something? I can't remember?
I wish Oda would give Roger a proper full movie and we would see Rouge and thus how they adopted Shanks and Buggy and why, where they found them and such. In a way, Shanks and Buggy are kinda like Nami and Nojiko? I'd love for it to focus on Garp hunting down Roger as he did many times and apparently beating each other to almost death a few times too?
So much wasted potential man, I mean what is the point of Film Red too except to bait us, for the false hype and to sell merchandise and tickets and take advantage of gullible and desperate OP fans too? Especially massive Shanks fans like me too?
There's so much of Shanks we need to see too, so many answers we need and in a film called Red, I'd expect the focus to be on him and even Kidd including their history together and potential connections to each other and this is what we're getting instead. Shanks having a daughter that can't be "canon" and may not be his actual daughter anyway? Despite having half red hair too?
I've waited for Shanks for over 17 years now easily, I can't even imagine people who started OP when its started almost 25 years ago now and were hyped for him too. This is all we're getting after a quarter of a century and over 1040 something chapters? Give me a break Oda and I dont mean your chapter breaks either!

Am I the only who didn't really feel much for Sanji's mom? She was kinda boring as a character and she really missed the same grit that other mother figures like Bellemere or Dadad had/has
I did really like her but she seemed pretty 2-Dimensional lol (pun not intended). She did lack grit but I did appreciate that she was willing to risk her life and lost it ultimately due to trying to undo Judges horrific experimentation on her and their children especially, to try to save them from a miserable, even hellish future caused by their father. She had such a massive influence on who Sanji is and I really respect that as a massive Sanji fan and its also massively relatable for me in my own ways too.
She didnt get much screentime which didnt help either. Bellemere and Dadan are amazing and really set the standards high for mothers too though. Otohime too even.
Don't think too much about it it was another contrived way for Oda to avoid making a male SH hurt a beautiful female villain lol
Absolutely true unfortunately.
