We COULD have a canon movie instead like some other series got and thus the LONG awaited Shanks screentime, development, backstory and other info about him including Uta being his canon daughter or not but nah, fuck the fanbase right?

Nope, apparently not since it was all a dream.

I doubt we were gonna get it in the movie unless Oda is intending for it to never happen in the manga instead, which he did imply last chapter now to be fiar.

But him meeting Shanks in just a movie would not be enough at all, it would be disgraceful, almost as much as him not meeting him at all and especially as the movie is also non-canon too.

It's coming soon for sure. I still am somewhat confident there are smaller arcs left to be told to introduce certain characters

I like how oda makes these super broken power that can do anything so his story can work.

Uta's fruit makes even luffy's so called "most ridiculous power", 5 billion berries fruit, look like nothing.

And only reason why the plot even works, give uta some other random fruit and movie falls flat at the start.

Same way how in dressrosa if doflamingo didn't have Sugar he would never take over dressrosa.

Like everything in op that villains manage is based on a super broken fruit that can do anything.


Oda builds his story around broken fruits. It's not the cherry on the top, it's the entire cake.

Tbh, I think what he sees as an author is really overarching goal points. I still think we are getting a ton of characterization for Dragon/BB/Shanks etc, but all consolidated into a massive, sprawling war arc.

I actually also think Shanks will take One Piece before the crew gets to Laugh Tale, and it'll be central to the climax of the story.

The real question is what actually happens next though. I assume Elbaf is next and the last "signficant" arc before the end. But I hope Lodestar/Laugh Tale have some decent panel time to signify the end of the actual journey before things get hectic.

I just hope there is buildup to the climax. Shanks isn't meeting Luffy right now, which is kind of telling that there is at least more to the journey before we reach the climax


Edit: Even Pluton being in Wano is interesting, especially if we leave the country and it's not shown. Like....then it needs to be shown/used later
