It's not just strenght, but the narrative. Their fight against Kaido was supposed to be the climax of their character arc, their last stand where they were prepared and ready to give their life, it simply seems wrong to me to see them fight "underlings" 10 minutes later. It's like everything was reversed. I could see them fight Orochi because in a way he's as "important" Kaido but seeing Denjiro fight Hotei would just feel weird. Now Oda does whatever he wants, I know my feelings don't bear any authority on the series.
And thats cool, I get that. I'm only saying this because it doesn't look like the fight ended in a tragedy here, and the fact that Law is removing them from the roof may mean they have place further, but who knows. At this point I've just accepted to roll with whatever Oda is doing.
Everything is gonna take a while, but it wouldn't be the first time Oda has downplayed feats of villains (Enel not killing anyone basically with millions of volts, Crocodiles bomb not even being able to kill Pell, CP-9 killing nobody basically at Iceberg's mansion, Etc etc). Its just something I've learned to accept, so i wouldn't be surprised if they stood up in 10-20 chapters to defend Wano from some of the extraneous fights like Ninja/Samurai/Numbers/Orochi for different reasons
