Yeah but for last chapter that 30% content has so much weight to the discussion, last time spoiler thread was dull until new info came....I am hoping (though very small chance) has some juicy info/context to make things more spicy

That's the truth. People would expect chapter 1000 to be something special like will of D. reveal, Lurking Legend reveal, Rocks flashback, Reverie, end of act 3 etc.

Turns out chapter 1000 just finally Luffy reached the rooftop after all the stalling and snail pacing, and he blurted the old same speech again.
At this rate, Ace flashback in chapter 1000 could probably still less worse than the actual chapter we have now.

Failed marketing. There is no internal necessity for chapter 1000 to be special, since it would underline that you artificially work around that so something specific is part of it, instead of having the story flow naturally.

But even worse, WSJ made a huge deal out of it, Oda still worked around it and in the end its a prety common thing that happens in every arc.

By itself there is nothing wrong with the chapter, everything else external though...

1000 is better than the other milestone chapters
