I don't like the feeling that Oda had Luffy run through fodders for 10 chapters just so he could have him face Kaido on chapter 1000. Talk about pointless stalling

He could have built up the God Valley lore last couple chapters, Luffy could’ve reached the top and then 999,1000 he unleashes Xebec and Co.

Unless he has a plan and Ch1000 is really heat

Even without a Xebec reveal I think Oda could have done a more interesting chapter 1000 (like meaning of D?) instead we got something we have every arc, Luffy punchling the big bad and claiming that he will be the pirate king. I don't doubt the spreads wIll be badass but for such a milestone I expected something... more unique and memorable.
