Hybrid Kaido forces Zoro to use Asura. Kaido acknowledges Zoro's strength and expresses hope that he's the samurai he's been waiting for. He asks Zoro for his name. Zoro gives him, they have some banter.

Zoro expresses his dream to be the World's Strongest Swordsman, and his desire to protect Luffy. Until Luffy has recovered, he will be Kaido's opponent.

Asura Zoro holds his own against hybrid Kaido. Kaido greatly enjoys himself in the fight, Zoro is able to hurt him even in his hybrid form. Out of respect for Zoro's strength, Kaido tells him that he will show him the power of the World's Strongest and then reveals his Awakening. Awakened Kaido quickly recovers from the damage Asura Zoro dealt him. His scales are much harder than diamond, and he's invulnerable. He boasts of having the ultimate defence and the ultimate offence.

Zoro starts getting smacked around, as Zoro is knocked away, Luffy tags in with Gear 5. He faces Awakened Kaido by himself.

Sanji comes upon the defeated Zoro and questions him on how he could let himself be beaten, Luffy still needs his strength. Zoro is ashamed, but he's used up all his haki in the earlier fight. Sanji tells him not to look down on him. He didn't go through hell for 2 years only to fail his teammates when they need him the most.

Sanji cooks one of the Okama Kenpo's secret recipes. This restores all of Zoro's stamina. Zoro thanks him and finally addresses him by name for the first time in the manga.

While Sanji is blushing like a schoolgirl shocked, Zoro runs off to face Kaido.

Chapter ends with G5 Luffy and Asura Zoro facing off against Awakened Kaido.


(Sanji also cooked a similar recipe for Luffy. Luffy probably says some badass lines when he's confronting Kaido in Gear 5, but I don't understand Luffy's character well, so I left him out so as not to ruin the immersion).

Question.
Isn't Hybrid Zoan form purely a form more suited to fight, since it keeps the humanoid form the person is used to fighting on, but added the animal goods?
Never considered Hybrid having more "defense" or "offense" than full beast.
When Page One transforms, he just says something like "this form is better for fighting".
Serious question. No joke.

Sure That applies to everything but Mythical fruits

Hybrid is the most suited for combat across the board but Mythical fruits are just weird. Like is the Daibutsu form of Sengolu his best form? Is that a hybrid? What about Marco? Also their mythical powers like Kaido using flame clouds and his durability seem to work even im human form

Hybrid in general is better for combat BUT there seems to be number of exceptions so its almost cases by case

For example Ulti wasnt doing so hot in Hybrid against Luffy then when she switched to full Zoan, Luffy was saying he needed G4

I do hope Sanji will use another one of that recepies in the war, but Zoro even just blocking an attack from hybrid Kaido, let alone hurt him while not distracted, is too ridiculous.
I don't even understand how a Zoro fan would be ok or even excited with that. Zoro trained his entire life to get better, how could someone be glad if he did something comparable to Luffy?

Luffy is following a path way harder than his, the best Zoro and his fans should hope for is supporting Luffy, dealing damage to Kaido while he is focused on the others and a one-time attack at the best of his abilities (better if while using the Nidai Kitetsu or alongside Yamato with the Ame no Habakiri) able to hurt Kaido badly.

Human Kaido blitzed and oneshotted G4 Luffy at the beginning of Wano, Zoro is slower and has worse CoO even compared to that Luffy. He is no match for him, especially in hybrid form.
That's not by chance that Shiliew got the clear clear fruit, CoO is Zoro's biggest weakness

Unless Zoro and company hold him off thw entire 10 minutes.

Problem is, Big mom is still around AND G4 wasnt doing very much already even before that

So i think the fight ends veru quickly IF luffy does not have a G5... Like if Oda doesnt want to reveal a G5, then its a waste of time to even protext luffy for the next 10 minites just so he can turn G4 again. I think either we get G5 now or the fight ends
