I always thought King+Queen has some similarities with Zoro+Sanji. This would be interesting match up 2v2

At some point there was a build up between Sanji and King, but look how it turned out. Or the build up between Zoro and Kaido, small clash and that's it. In order to make this shit shorter and better you have to get rid off characters like: Kid, Law, Meme, Yamato, Ashura, Denjiro, Kiku, Kanjuro, Nekomamushi, Inuarashi, Apoo, Kawamatsu etc. Essentially any character that is useless to the plot and has no purpose but to stretch the arc for $$$$$$$$$$.

There are some exceptions for sure like Magu Magu, Gura Gura or Yami Yami but I doubt it's Gomu.

No, Zoro talks about being healed to fight in the war which includes Kaido. He doesn't say anything about fighting King.

That doesn't mean he won't fight King. Just King isn't the reason he wants his body healed. Remember, it took Kaido and Big Mom to put him in that state.

I could see the actual awakening portion of Luffy's fruit being why the WG wants it. Maybe it involves some crazy environmental manipulation that makes it either super destructive or needed for some future task.

It's like the Ope Ope with its life surgery, it's possible there are more applications to the fruit than fighting exactly.

Nhaaaaa... I thought about it to be honest with you, and I think there's a possibility for that if Yamato is really going to join the crew, but I'm not sure and I wouldn't bet my money on it. I think Yamato's main job is to stall Kaido and help Luffy, that's it.
