I thought so on the first reading, but it was actually a perspective thing.
They were running past each other in a Raime Hakke blow rather than clashing and freezing in air.
Kaido is running towards the camera hence his weird angle and why their faces are paneled in the opposite directions having passed each other, 1025 confirms that both went past each other rather than being held in a clash.
