I don't think the diagram of the city is to scale. The whale tree was the biggest thing on Zunisha and there are multiple forests on Zou, this kinda doesn't really show it and the buildings are all huge for some reason

Oda's handling of Big Meme is the worst thing that happened to this arc. It REALLY isn't a coincidence that the two arcs with Meme are the two worst arcs in the series

Honestly it would be a subpar bait and switch for Oda to dedicate a full chapter to Who's Who, and how he lost the Gomu Gomu No Mi, and was branded an outlaw because of it, and start to build mystique surrounding the whole situation, then have the Gorosei start talking about a Devil Fruit, in the very arc we learn this information, all for it to be in reference to some other random Devil Fruit. There is no gotcha moment there. Just head scratching.

Yeah, for all intents and purposes, it should be Luffy's fruit. Why would WsW get 12+ years in prison (he escaped) for losing a devil fruit? Seems a bit crazy

As much as I hate to say this, because I dont like Big Meme, she's here to stay folks. Was rereading WCI and there's just too many references of Luffy and others directly saying how he would be the one to take her down.

I don't think he's a part of the fleet to Wano tbh. The windows don't look like they belong to a ship plus in the official translation, he said, 'Bring back Nico Robin'. As if he isn't himself going there. I think he's in Mariejois only.

I think CP9 getting pinned for losing and destroying an entire government island/facility by piece of shit Spandam (who clearly was the one doing it and it was his fault) is VEERRRY different than WsW getting imprisoned for losing a Devil fruit seemingly on a whim.

It's weird WsW got in trouble for as long as he did on it. It also lends credence that this shit was intentional by Shanks, even feeding Luffy the fruit (either with good or questionable intentions, who knows)

Why would it be brought up anywhere? The whole point is the only people who know about this is the Gorosei, as they are the ones who changed the name of the Devil Fruit. Nobody is going to talk about something they don't even know exists.

And the biggest take away here, is what makes the Gomu Gomu no Mi so special, if it's worth so much money?

The thing is, Luffy's fruit hasn't awakened yet so it makes no sense for Gorosei to say that for Gomu Gomu and on the other hand, Law's fruit just did. We also always knew that Law's fruit is very special so I won't really call that bait. It's possible that one of the CP0 agents found out that he has awakened the fruit through one of the marys and conveyed it to the higher-ups.
