That's exactly why I mentioned that it means Luffy won't fulfill another promise he made.

He wont be fulfilling his WCI promise(probably) but will fulfil his raid promise so it cancels it out I guess

I don't understand one thing. The Luffy claim. So Luffy won't fulfill his promise to Katakuri. Because what's the point of Luffy fighting Big Mom after she gets potentially beaten by Kidd and Law? By the point of their future 1 vs 1 Luffy will just demolish her with no vaseline.

That's the reason I always felt that BM won't lose to kidd and law but to Luffy (in future ). She doesn't another arc dedicated to her to lose to Luffy.




Tbh, I think Oda just changed the plot after WCI. Bringing BM here was a mistake. Her whole crew is sitting idle RN lmao


SN vs Kaido would have gone done really well and would have justified not only Kaido's hype but would fit in with all other narratives laid down so far like


1)Rise of worst gen
2) Kidd and Luffy wanted to beat kaido
3) Luffy declaring he will beat all yonkou
4)Their Sabody portrayal would matched and so on

When you mentioned power-ups that allow the Strawhats to win their fights later what matchups are you talking about? Cause if you're referring to the fights they've had before (Zoro vs King, Sanji vs Queen, etc.) Then I'm not sure what the rematches are going to add to the story. It's just going to be the Straw Hats wiping the floor with the Beast Pirates in a way more decisive and less chaotic way than we're seeing now. It'd just be redundant to somehow have the raid fail just for them to fight the same opponents in a different setting.

Yes, I'm refering to the strawhats having rematches with the awakened Tobi Roppo and Calamities.
It is my belief that these rematches would add a lot to the story actually. After the defeat of the strawhats we could actually get some emotional investment in the story, and I think that longer fights would payoff the long wait we've had of the strawhats not all getting their individual match ups.
We could also get to actually see Nami and Ussop fight if that happens too.
Luffy has fought Kaido in different settings, I don't see why other main characters can't do that too.

Also big mom got a whole arc before this to showcase her a ton
So Mayne oda didn't think it was necessary to give her a ton of on screen feats or not as much as kaido who is brand new

Also kidd has never really fought
And law has but he hasn't really been showcased since punk hazard
Some good feats in dress but luffy stole the show

He might thought hey I only have so many panels I can draw this fight in
I'll dedicate more of them to kidd and law
