Because a Devil Fruit is 100% based on the users ability to use it, not the fruit itself. Awakening entirely drained Law and Kid. Haki literally needed to be used to maintain Gear 4 until Luffy could not anymore. Last chapter it was clear that Luffy was pulling from his own lifespan to maintain the heartbeat. Kaido said he's killing himself doing it.

Are we really going there after the 2 years of BS arguments made against Zoro and Enma with the same shit lol? And you of all people? Don't be a hypocrite

That's a retarded ass logic.
Just because luffy is a garbage character doesn't mean a member he begged and also black mailed into joining his crew in exchange for giving Zoro his swords back is garbage too.
