King is only important than Katakuri because of his race.

However right now, as far as I can tell King is currently a prisoner at Wano.

Katakuri meanwhile is still free and with Big Mom for now out, he is now the new captain of the BMP.

Also with Pudding being kidnapped by the Blackbeard Pirates, that is pretty much going to lead Katakuri and the rest of the BMP to most likely become temporary allies with the SHs in the future.

So right now it seems like Katakuri might have a major role to play in the future compared to King.
