Honestly if Kaku and Jabra were introduced at the same time without the Doriki shit, I think most Zoro bros would've prefered Jabra over Kaku

I made a whole thread on how that was even the original plan oda himself had before he changed his mind
Tho I don’t mind at all with it changing to Lucci and kaku vs zoro and sanji instead post timeskip. They fit more as stereotypical zoro sanji villains anyway

In real early concept of enies lobby kaku was originally planned to be a fight for sanji. Meaning jabra was more likely than not supposed to be zoro's fight

Sanji vs kaku making sense because like alot of sanji's opponents kaku is one of the more silly members of the group. Both in personality and design.
Along with original just not being a swordsman and mainly specializing in his kicks which he still kinda does tbh

Zoro vs jabra making sense because he was supposed to be one the more serious sides of things like alot of zoro's opponent's. His design being more typically seen as badass in comparison to kaku.
On top of that he also shares parallels to lucci aka luffy's fight like alot of zoro opponents also do. Jabra being a carnivorous zoan and leading his own group of cp9. If he fought zoro he would have definitely been made a swordsman

Well yeah Enma makes the user use up a lot of haki.

So if Zoro is using Enma he's using haki in his slash and not just a hakiless swing it's a bit embarrassing to be blocked by a base leg.

Base King performed better against Santoryu Zoro than it seems Lucci is holding against Nitoryu Zoro.

- King in base is stronger than Lucci in base : King is a 6m tall Lunarian freak and even in base King has top notch Défense or speed with Lunarià hax.

- King only has one more physical mode and it’s his hybrid while Lucci has two more amps and one of them is awakening.

- Current Zoro is overall stronger than King fight Zoro

Like maybe we undersold the gap between Luffy and Zoro, but even then it's not Oda's style to give Zoro opponents that were folded by Luffy ealier in the arc

Luffy used his strongest form that turn him into a old man afterward so he did put some effort, but yeah he was portrayed a whole tier above Lucci
That's why it would end up looking bad on Zoro if they get a serious fight

Oda want to save all out Luffy for Kizaru.
Against Lucci, yes he used G5 but even then we see how Lucci was hopeless against G5 who wasn't even trying.

Once Lucci witness the world class battle with Luffy vs Kizaru, he will understand he was not any match for Luffy.

Kizaru vs Luffy will be a whole different league then anything what we got in Eggisland arc so far.

Monet vibes is a bit much, let’s see. Oda likes Lucci, it doesn’t feel like he’ll get a massive L in this arc because that will be a disservice to one of his best villains. If Zoro vs Lucci is a full fight and doesn’t get interrupted then Lucci might have new tricks up his sleeves. We haven’t seen awakened rokuogan and life return either, that might come into play.

Agreed, Oda does like Lucci. I'm envisaging Zoro vs Monet if Monet pushed Zoro to mid/high-diff.

By Zoro vs Monet I don't mean Zoro will shitstomp Lucci btw, Lucci's clearly YC1/YC1+ considering he beat Sentomaru even quicker than Kizaru did. The Monet comparison comes more so from Monet being unimpressed with Luffy because he's a goofy fighter, then she got comfortable vs Zoro because he wasn't trying. And once Zoro started trying she realised how much stronger the SHs really are.

I reckon Lucci will get some good feats against base Zoro and that'll be Oda giving Lucci his flowers. But if Zoro uses KOH it'll be to flex, expect some one-liners and a panel of Lucci like 😳. And the main reason I think that is because Lucci is wayyy too cocky and is still yet to see ACoC in action.

Tbf it is not the Sanji fans fault but Oda’s.

Because yes, with what he has shown throughout the story Sanji should have attacked Lucci and not attack Kaku. Here is a pure case of Oda disrespecting the character to make the plot move forward. Because he needs Zoro and Lucci out of the lab, Sanji forgot who he is.
Another proof that there is no consistency (in character, in powerscale, in dynamic, in bounty…), there is only what the plot wants.

It is honestly not the Sanji fans that are to blame here but clearly Oda.
