This is a self contained backstory that has nothing to do with the main plot. How does this have anything to do with the final saga? It is just a backstory of a character that is not connected to the main plot in any way other than "theme" which can literally be done to any character.

The way Oda tried to connect Kuma to the main plot is by having him reference Nika. That is Oda's lazy way of having Kuma connect to the main plot by him saying "Nika". Kuma knowing the name Nika is the same bullshit Oda did with Kaido referencing "Joy Boy". It didn't amount to anything.



Dozens of characters were oppressed by the WG. This is nothing unique and it is a self contained backstory.

I am not debating whether you like his backstory or not, you can love it, that is fine. I am debating the inconsistent excuses you guys keep giving Oda. If you claim Kaido is filler than by your logic Kuma is filler too and we shouldn't be exploring him to this extent.

Kaido didn't get a proper backstory because he probably ran out of time, it's not because he wasn't relevant. I've never used relevancy as an excuse for Kaido not getting one proper.
