He did that because Oda needed Luffy and Kizaru out of the way to tell Bonney and Kuma's back story.

This is what I’ve been telling people. The flashback was pretty long and would have broken the momentum of the fight. Better have a new and final round. Also Luffy fights always more than one round for some reason

Luffy has the most broken fruit in the verse awakened and ACoC. How would Kizaru having awakening or ACoC be "too OP".

I'm not saying it would be to OP, just saying he would be at Akainu's level.
I myself think the only reason Akainu is stronger than the other Admirals is because he awakened his fruit and the other haven't. But I guess we will found out in the next couple of chapters.
If Kizaru will awaken his fruit I guess Akainu will have awakening + CoC

That’s just extremely bad writing and shit pacing. If he wanted Luffy and Kizaru out of the way he could’ve easily just had them fight somewhere else on the island, instead he decided to give us more of his signature fake tension so Luffy could once again steal the spotlight and save the day.
