it is very strange considering Luffy has not tried everything in his arsenal before coming to the conclusion...especially when he went allout against Kaido before coming to that conclusion...for some very dumb reason, Luffy is not using CoC coating against someone very powerful...and given the experience of Luffy from the beginning of the series to this point he should have more experience because he always fought against someone way stronger than him and improved....now that is not the case...and Luffy fighting instincts were always good but somehow Oda dumbed him down in egghead in regards to fighting...not the first time but it is annoying troupe

Remember that interview with Oda about hindering Luffy with obstacles at the beginning of the arc, otherwise he would defeat the villain quickly? Well, this is just another one of those cases. I wouldn't be confused and doubtful if Luffy had used Conqueror's Haki on the Gorosei and the attack had failed to do something relevant to them. However, it's very strange that he didn't try this possibility instead of making Luffy use simple attacks. It's like the nerf that Luffy received when initially fighting against Kizaru and the somewhat questionable decisions he made during that battle.
