I don't care VP wanted to die or not but he despite knowing WG wanted to kill him and had ancient weapon.... despite knowing Lulusia incident didn't even bring WG to blame in his speech.

All he did was laid seed of chaos by bringing one piece again and ancient weapon.

People don't even know who was trying to kill VP or who will try to kill him and all of this when VP actually knew everything
I thought the speech would make people all around start rebelling aganst the WG to build the final war uo but as things are they have no reason to lmao
What a waste of time this "big incident" ended up being
appen anyway.

This is Shaka straight up saying the Mother Flame powers the Seraphim, right?

Meaning... the flames the Seraphim/Lunarians have ARE connected to the Mother Flame?
Shaka mentions seraphim are using too much power implies they are doing more work. They are probably working with York in stealing the Mother Flame's energy. The terminology is basically used in Nuclear powerplant, so York Generated more energy from Mother Flame by increasing Neutron flux (Nuclear reactor power output is directly proportional to Neutron flux) and changed the records of it ever happening. Shaka found the changed readings are anomalous and setup his own monitoring which outed the culprit.

Can't wait for Sanji vs Kizaru rematch in elbaf or marineford
:myman:

Oda making lame excuse for Sanji not to fight Kizaru in egghead (Dr. Vegapunk dying wish)
:whitepress::whitepress:
Sanji can't tango with Kizaru seriously anyway. It was better not to have pointless beatdown and run away in that situation.

My issue personally isnt that all 5 Gorosei were brought here, its the fact that VPs message wasnt really enough to justify their presense. Like sure, they HAD to, but Oda is making it seem like the world sinking and it being known is foiling the WG's plans lol.

Like even the way the characters behaved to the news wasnt all that extraordinary. They know the world is sinking, and continue to blame piracy for it. Like...isnt that a good thing for the WG lol?

Vegapunk even painted the idea of obtain One Piece as this big thing that will determine the fate of the world, which is causing people like Koby to want to try and stop Luffy lol, not the WG.
Look at the situation from the Gorosei's perspective. They didn't know what he was gonna say. They assumed its worst-case scenario and took action, which cost them nothing by the way.

They won't, they are going to be dragged into the mud like the others once its their turn.
Oh sweet summer child, when it's time for the BB crew to be the main antagonists, the work of Kizaru and the Gorosei this arc will look like an Olympic gold medal performance.

Oda NEVER makes any villain look competent once it's their time to actually do something.

People just never learned to accept this fact.
We believe in Blackbeard, Oda's favorite real life pirate and the greatest pirate in the history of mankind. They took down Roger's equal , captured the greatest marine ever - they will crush good guys like Shanks - The bad boys are coming for the world :finally: =>

On a serious note, I still believe Oda is a great writer when he puts his heart into it

The arc went downhill with the message, that's it.

I liked it a lot before the message, but then it became sooooooo slow and stalling, until the arc literally rushed wrapped and ended as we saw it.

Egghead for the moments outside of it is good, without it it's a solid average 5 arc

Yonkou Luffy, after facing/humiliating an admiral (who was said to be lethal and stronger than kaidou according to experts), and several Gorosei, in the end he is unharmed, and clowning around:
The same guy who needed an immediate blood transfusion + medical treatment after the fight against Kaidou:
And slept for 7 days:

Barely anything in this arc is comparable to what happened in Wano, a couple of haki bursts, cutting Egghead in half and little more.
Only Lanji and Franky went all out, completely irrelevant.

None of this even includes the atrocious tone-deafness of having the Strawhats celebrate with Vegapunk’s corpse besides them!

I feel like I’m losing my mind. I thought nothing could be worse than Hitler Hiyori closing out the Wano arc.
What on earth happened to Oda?!?!?!
I would say post-timeskip or even marineford/sabaody was the beginning of the decline, but even then you could just handwave the stupid or badly written stuff because they simply felt like a few dirty pebbles falling into a still mostly clean pond. Since Wano or maybe the second half of WCI (@Buusatan94 once wrote a pretty good breakdown of how Whole Cake went wrong), its like Oda has just been making more and more dumb decisions or creating plotlines that don't lead to anywhere, and it was around Wano when he started adopting the subverting expectations mentality that's killing some western entertainment. He went from throwing dirty pebbles to chucking garbage in the pond.

Was it his involvement with Netflix? Was it heavier mandates from JUMP/Toei? Has he simply grown distant from One Piece because he could no longer make the other manga stories he wanted to make? Or can it all simply be chalked up to the new editors for being Oda fanboys who are too young and unwilling to reign him in when he comes up with dumb ideas?

Also sometimes when people get rich they are introduced to certain intellectual circles that share this kind of mentality and start destroying their work.

The most shocking thing would be that he revealed that Joyboy was the first pirate and fought the WG, but even during that part, Vegapunk refuses to paint any side as evil and tries to paint them both as fighting for their own ideals, and the common view of pirates among civilians in the OP world is that they're all evil, so naturally people are probably going to assume Joyboy was the bad one. So you're still right, Vegapunk's message had nothing that actually made the WG look bad, and them doing this over the top arrival just to get nerfed by 800 year old rope haki feels completely pointless.

Most of the message doesn't make the WG look bad and the most nerve wracking thing it achieved was repeating "THE ONE PIECE IS REAL" line but with way less emotional impact for the reader than Whitebeard.
