If the strawhats end up getting the final road poneglyph during elbaf that heavily implies shanks already has all 4
Shanks the guardian and the last obstacle to the one piece
We know and shanks himself knows that he isn’t the man fated to find the one piece, surpass Roger, and then surpass joyboy
While he may not be that guy have been tasked by Roger to find the person that is
He like everyone else from the world government, the marines, most pirates, and Roger himself likely originally thought it was supposed to be ace. With him more likely than not being in search for him until he got to know luffy and decided to change plans. With him betting on luffy being the one fated to surpass roger and joyboy
With luffy finally awakening his fruit and defeating kaido in the process finally decided it’s time to move
With there being a decent chance he already has all 4 poneglyph rubbing
If he has 4 that means he’d be waiting at laughtale for either luffy or Blackbeard. With both of them missing the final rubbing they’re probably going to end up fighting for it with the winner moving on
Shanks obviously wanting it to be luffy that meets him on the island but ready for the worst if it ends up being Blackbeard
As for buggy shanks might end up reaching out to him to form some sort of deal or temporary alliance so that they can go there together. Buggy not going with him as a subordinate but someone on equal terms with shanks also being an emperor
If the strawhats end up beating the Blackbeard Pirates (they will) and fight the red haired pirates a Davy back fight would be a fitting way for their crews to compete. Buggy and cross guild could be the ones helping set up the event and judging the games
Buggy and cross guild still deciding to go after the treasure anyway despite who wins or something

I’m back to thinking a Davy back fight would be a lot more fitting for buggy and cross guild
Davy back fight or not I always thought luffy vs shanks would be a serious fight regardless. It just being more friendly overall with the crew “fights”. Tho buggy and cross guild doing it instead does makes a lot more sense
Buggy and foxy both being silly characters would obviously lose a head to head with the strawhats so they need to find other means to win. Plus their crews are both unironically really good at setting up events and parties lol
They plan on stealing the one piece not actually fighting for it. Plus despite being a scary cat buggy is an extremely proud pirate and probably knows all about Davy back fights

How do we separate CGs storyline from Blackbeard and Shanks' due to Mihawk and Buggy's history with the latter? Let alone the Marines that they are giving bounties for?

Why mihawk and crocodile?
And nah oda isn’t going to give each emperor their own dedicated solo arc just to them. Any arc they do get is going to be combined with more groups and antagonist than them
I feel it’s easy to reconnect cross guild with the red haired pirates even if they lose. Shanks likes them specifically buggy and him reaching a hand out to him asking if he want to go to laugh tale with him seems pretty fitting imo
