Oda handled the Gaban stuff well imo
I never expected it to be a serious confrotation as he's obviously friendly to the straw hats, but a old legend wasn't going to look bad in their first show off
Spent the first pages clowning Luffy, but not in a fuck the powerlevels way as both were obviously far from going all out
Had Luffy shock the moment he starts getting serious and have him going G5 while teaming up with Zoro to gang on him as a way to show he's a real deal. Stop fighting the moment shit was about to get real because he saw what he wanted. That way Oda avoided drawing Gaban gettting beat up in his first fight or him shitting on both G5 Luffy + Zoro (straight up huge power creep territory) while portraying him as a top tier.

This is the safest possible route for all 3 characters , Gabban would have gotten his ass whooped if he fought both luffy and zoro together so oda stopped that fight in a troll fashion , while in the same way he made gabban stunt base goofy and had zoro hype and block his signature attack .
All parties were gassed here

Same, as I said they will end up as Loki hypetools(except Shamrock maybe?).
Loki will be the main villian of this arc.

I feel like we won't see ever again adv. Coc being drawn like wano.
I am sure that G4 used adv. Coc against kizaru, kizaru statement about how strong it was and how he could see how he managed to beat kaido is better than visual reference when Oda this chapter just did:

1. Zoro Imbuing one sword, other twos are white.
2. Zoro sword disappears from his mouth
3. Zoro sword is back on his mouth and is imbued with Haki like the other sword, so now two swords that we can see (we can't see the other one) are imbued with Haki.

And we wanna trust Oda when it comes to the visual aspect?

Personally I'm done trying to guess what haki is used, I'm letting other people have fun with it

But whoever believed, HK are stronger than Admirals, can now change sides because it's obvious af only Shamrock is comparable to them and Yonko. We have yet to see logia awakening and I'm sure this is gonna be op af.

It would be completely ridicolous if Celestial Dragons has 10 guys stronger than Admirals. Garp alone was considered a very strong WG asset.

I think this is one of those rarest times when oda didn't make anyone a hype tool but at the same time showed respect to all parties involved.


Liking two new HKs already. Seems like they'd be more fun to have on panel.

From Gaban it seems Nika had "White appearance " and turned even the axe white
