Anyone who is confirmed as a swordman in manga is bound to be surpassed by Zoro by logic of storytelling.
We aren't following Xebec's growth as a swordsman since day 1, Oda hasn't invested years into Xebec.

Zoro is bare minimum as much confirmed to surpass Xebec in strength as Luffy is confirmed to surpass Roger as a pirate.

I have Mihawk > Shanks but icl Black Blades at this point in the story don't mean anything so at this point for me I don't like to use it in a debate. Black blades clearly aren't only strength based. If they were why does Oden "nearly" make his blade black and how does Zoro who at that point was clearly weaker then Oden have a chance to make it black if he was way weaker. It doesn't make sense. Oda needs to lock in and explain Black Blades and why we as the reader should view it as special because at this point I don't believe it

I know, I’ve had this argument either with you or like 10 other people in this forum, and every time this argument ends exactly here, people genuinely think Zoro WILL NOT become the Strongest swordsman in the world.

every time it ends the same way. Zoro must be the only strawhat who fails to accomplish their dream.

Heres even a list of all the reason I’ve seen

1. It’s too hard, Zoro isn’t going to go around the world fighting every swordsman so how will he know he’s WSS?

2. Mihawk isn’t actually the strongest swordsman in the world so we will never find out who the strongest swordsman actually is since there’s no swordsman tournament in the story

3. Shiryu will kill Mihawk but somehow Shiryu will not become WSS so the title will disappear when mihawk dies

4. Shiryu will kill Mihawk and he will become WSS BUT Shiryu can’t kill Shanks or Fujitora or Greenbull or Big mom, or Nusjuro or Garling or Shamrock so basically Shiryu will invalidate the title by somehow managing to steal it

5. Zoro will realize his dream is to be Luffy’s best lap dog and will simply abandon his Dream

6. Actually the World doesn’t include Mariejois so the title doesn’t apply to Celestial dragon so Zoro was chasing the wrong dream for 1200 chapters and now Zoro has to change his dream and find out who the strongest swordsman in Mariejois somehow

7. Zoro’s dream only applies to people who care about it. Mihawk is only stronger than Zoro, and those two Crossdressers in Marineford. Every other swordsman who doesn’t want the title is automatically not included in it.

8. Zoro’s dream is to be the “most skilled swordsman” so he doesn’t even have to beat mihawk, he just has to “get more skill”. In fact it’s possible that Zoro beats mihawk AND STILL is not “more skilled” than Mihawk so Zoro wouldn’t get the title after winning

yes, all the above are things people genuinely believe… Because Zoro is the onto strawhat whose dream requires this many caveats and revisions and questions if it’s real or if it’s even possible
