So… why did Sengoku who was adamant on fighting Shiki alone in the past decide to accept Garps help… Garps equal not being certain he’d win is clear.
Because this is not 1 vs 1 fan power scaling thing like you want it to be in your headcanon .

Reality is Sengoku is a fictional character who works for Navy , he is essentially a soldier with a job of capturing Shiki . Accepting Garps help would make his job of capturing Shiki easier and less risky for his own life.

Shiki was a yonko or sanko alongside WB and BM.
Shiki Whitebeard and Roger ruled the seas post Rox downfall.

I’m sorry was Sengoku not a character who worked for the navy back when he told Garp back off cause Shiki was his business
:seriously:

Shiki Whitebeard and Roger are the big 3 following Rox’ death. Not Big Mom. She’s canonically under him.

Yeah, this chapter is actually pure Linlin gas. She was consistently paired with Whitebeard, their back-and-forth reminiscent of Zoro and Sanji’s endless squabbles. At the same time, the two carried themselves like the elder siblings of the crew. Shiki and Kaido acted like the younger bros of the dynamic. Put it all together, and the case for her being in the crew’s top three is pretty damn strong even when she’s supposed to be younger than Shiki.

Prime Garp no-selling Big Mom’s elemental attacks was exactly what I expected. Even an old, geriatric Garp was manhandling Kuzan’s entire devil fruit arsenal, so there’s no way that the generic projectiles of a Linlin who’s a decade younger than him would faze him. If you told me last week that prime Garp would actually need ACoC to shrug off those moves then I would have slapped you in the face.
Yep the dynamic is very much like Zoro-Sanji also Linlin and Kaido the only ones casually standing side by side next to Primebeard btw. Shiki meanwhile keeps getting compared to his true equal Wilver Axe

Garp blitzed the f outta Kuzan after he ignored-diff his move and he did that shit rusty to boot, we all thought it was a fluke but now we know better after seeing prime Chuujo Warp. At least Linlin's move was felt by him and she was too nimble to be caught. It's really over for admiral agenda @EmperorKinyagi

CoC: Color of Clowns

They sold our childhoods for $$$

Okay, so Dragon is probably going to go chase down Garp, and tell him what's going on, or at least try too.

Kuma and Iva are going to head to the Fruits, so we should see them in 1162, most likely, and maybe see Linlin and Kaido fight Saturn.

This is the last bit of the Rocks Pirates we see in this chapter:

Captain John, Ganzui, Gloriosa, Gill Bastar, Silver Axe, Shiki, and Newgate are all here.

Since Roger is shown with Rayleigh at the end of the chapter, I'm assuming someone else started fighting Newgate.

Good chance this is Garling, who will want to secure Shakky, the woman he wants as his wife.

Rocks is looking for his wife and not around here.

We don't see Barbell, Stussy, Kaido, Linlin, and Streussen. Barbell my want a Fruit, and so might Stussy, or, they might want treasure.

We all know where Kaido, Linlin and Streussen are going: to get Devil Fruits.

So, Saturn should run into Linlin, Kaido, and Streussen next chapter, I believe, and save Kuma/Iva.

It's also very possible that 1162 is the chapter when Kaido eats his Devil Fruit.

You know, it would be really cool to see Barbell save Kuma, since they're both from Tribes persecuted by the World Government. This is Oda's space to give the Rocks Pirates personality, and Fish-Men have always been tied to discrimation like Kuma is facing in this series.

Maybe Barbell is actually going around trying to help the slaves.

Barbell stonks going up???

INVEST IN BARBELL STONKS NOW

You dont need to be sorry you just need to get rid of that stupid mindset that Sengoku was fighting to prove he can 1 vs 1 Shiki in clear fight. Once you grasp that we can talk.

Why Sengoku was not simply playing it by the moment and accepted Garp help ?

Because Sengoku never acts like that. If this was literally any other character you’d have a point. But this is a man who has a personal vendetta against Shiki who’s shown in the past that he’d like to take down Shiki on his own. Yet now he suddenly decided against it.

They have a Garp and Roger dynamic for a reason and Garp unless he accepted he can’t beat Roger alone would never accept help regardless of the circumstance. Same with Sengoku.

You’re trying to alter his characterization for the sake of an agenda.

No agenda I am just saying its a completely rational way of thinking . Accepting Garps help means Sengoku is highly likely to accomplish his job as Navy soldier and his life would be at much lower risk against such opponent.

Tell me what is wrong with me applying rational way of thinking to Sengoku ( apart that it goes against powerscaling 1 vs 1 agenda ) ?

Yes but Sengokus not rational with Shiki. If he was he would’ve captured Shiki years ago by accepting Garps help.

This is a personal vendetta. It’s like how Law wasn’t rational with Doffy despite being a rational character.

No but if he was as strong as some of you say, he'd just do it solo with no issue.
They are obviously in the same ballpark. Unless Garp wanted to fight Shiki for days and destroy Marineford in the process, there was no reason not to make it a 2 on 1.

It's not like we are saying Garp solos 3 Yonko, we are saying the fact that a Whitebeard who wasn't more or less in his prime than Garp (similar age + old Garp showing way better feats than God Valley Garp) immediately decided to back off while backed up by a 30 year old Linlin and Kaido (though kaido as a 18 year old without his DF has the best excuse) kinda speaks for Garp in a direct 1 on 1 comparison, even if the gap is small. as @ZenZu phrased it, saying Garp is at least = Whitebeard based on recent portrayal would have a solid ground.

Clearly it was not as personal as you want it to be. In manga Sengoku was very calculated character and praised by Whitebeard himself .

Sengoku accepting Garp help does not prove he would lose in actual 1 vs 1 .
