If you talk about Zoro, that man is already a top tier so significantly more powerful than the kid who cannot scratch King's boss.
The same man who will kill King's boss.

As for Katakuri, he is no longer relevant to have a bright future.
King, being used to meritocracy, might actually follow the strong one who beats him.
That sounds brighter future than Katakuri's. Wouldnt you agree?

It is ofc Zoro who isn't a top Tier already as the second strongest Straw Hat since Luffy himself isn't a Top Tier yet.

If not him it will either be Sanji or Kid or another Supernova.

E.Oda is not losing his consistency, there was no build-up between Zoro and King, and he is not going to write a fight between them just because Zoro fans wanted it. King is more suitable for Sanji, because both can fly and they can fight on the sky. Remember Doflamingo, when not even Law could reach Doflamingo, he used Sanji to counter him on the sky, because there was a point; it was a sky fight. Now this could be the same. Imagine now, Orochi resurrect himself by using his mythical zoan and try to kidnap Oden's daughter, and then Zoro comes to rescue. And then he finishes Orochi once and for all.

Don’t forget King literally using Diable Jamble on BMP’s ship too. Most of his skillset seems to match Sanji’s, whether people like it or not. (I am down for tag team against King, but Sanji will definitely be part of his fight.)

Luffy has nothing to do with Zoro's power. Zoro is already a top tier if you know anything about power scaling.

- Sliced Oars Jr's leg while laughing
- Turned Yonko commander Atmos into a puppet
- Stopped YC2 Jozu from killing Crocodile

Then;
- He has CoC Haki.
- He has awakening DF power.
- He has a powerful underling like Vergo, who can fight equally with Sanji and Smoker.
- Easily defeated Vice Admiral Smoker.
- Easily defeated Post-TS Sanji.
- Defeated Shichibukai Law with a minor injury only, you can say easy as well.
- Defeated G4-Less Luffy and send his puppet Bellamy and Black Knight to deal with him instead.
- Created a Bird Cage while fighting with others, it was unstoppable for entire Dressrosa, Zoro, Franky, and the marines.
- Survived a cheap-shot Gamma Knife, then Counter Shock, and then he outlasted Gear Fourth, the Gladiators saved Luffy.

The guy is strong. Easily YC3 like Cracker, or Vista or Jack.

When he proves it, that's too late. By that time I am already shifting one gear up.
No top tier has defeated another top tier btw, Akainu aside.
