It’s not magic. In a world where half human and half animals who speak human language fluently and even act like them with human emotions and fish men and mermaids are in existence, you think it’s not plausible for such ninjutsu to be present.? Naruto had way less of an expanded universe and you probably believed on those crazy jutsus.
The only difference is ninjutsu were not a big thing before this arc just as Haki weren’t before the Ts.

He stored fire in a paper lol, and even he can return it, how is that comparable with those examples? The paper is not something related to technology nor a devil fruit. It's literally "magic stuff". But magic should only be things related to devil fruits. That's the logic of this story.

Naruto has a ton of asspulls as well...

There are technically 10 more weeks till next year, before the holiday jump break.. Oda would have to do the following in order to make 1000, at the minimum:

Week 1: 993
Week 2: 994
Week 3: Break
Week 4: 995
Week 5: 996
Week 6: 997
Week 7: Break
Week 8: 998
Week 9: 999
Week 10: 1000

This is at minimum. If he takes another break under a 3 chapter schedule (including 992-994), then he either has to do a 4 chapter stretch or he is NOT making it to 1000 this year.

But yeah he probably won't. I'll be pleasantly surprised otherwise.
