But completely casual, and mentally and physically distracted Mihawk (with his CoO off) was fending off non holding back Vista.

Akainu only beat Curiel out of all those guys, plus it’s not like all of them are Vista level and beyond. Only Marco, Crocodile and Vista matter for real and Akainu didn’t defeat any of them.

It’s actually an overrated feat for Akainu, it’s good, but one of his least impressive showings in the war.
