Emotions are not enough to make a story good K!NG HARA$H!MA.
Pound being reunited with his daughters cannot make up for the many flaws and absurdities of this cover story such as Lola being here in the New World despite being far in Paradise just weeks or days before and after spending years going in the opposite direction of the Grand Line course, her being found so easely by Lola and Bege, Gotti accepting to become her husband so quickly and conveniently, Pound being alive which is just another annoying example of Oda sparring characters from things that should have killed them 100 times and the cheap drama about Chiffon and Lola not believing him to be their father and cruelly leaving him behind only to welcome him back a few covers after.
Seeing an emotionnal scene in a very bad book, series or movie doesn't make it better overall.

Better take out Oda's dick out your ass.This is basic writing skill- "don't create situations where you have to dumb down your characters in order for it to work"
We have Luffy, Sanji who both can fly. Yet they are running to the top. Luffy went G4 for a number but won't go G4 to reach Kaido in few seconds?
We have Jinbei, who last chapter punched through the levels to get to Luffy and Sanji and yet now he doesn't do that.
We have Robin, who can easily catch, trip Apoo. Yet she stands there and does jack shit.
We have Kaido spaming Boro breath even after it didn't work first 10 times. For some reason, staying in his useless dragon form.
In terms of "manga logic" or "PIS" Oda has never been the best. Guys like Togashi (HxH) are lightyears ahead of him in that category.
After all those years I don't care all that much anymore though, I just accept it and enjoy the ride.

Real bummer. We'll probably get chapter 998 a few days before Christmas.
If we're lucky, we'll get chapter 1000 in the second half of January.
It's an absolute shitshow coverstory and easily the worst writing we've ever seen in OP (which is quite telling btw).

According to this there'll be 2 jump breaks in November and 1 in Dec. These don't account for Oda's own breaks. Now this can be tentative or subject to change but I find that unlikely to happen.
The best bet to get Chapter 1000 is mid-end Jan.
