Zoro is on a par with the supernovas Drake, Apoo, Urouge and Hawkins in terms of power.

The chapter made it clear that Zoro cannot beat a supernova individually, without help or distractions

Has Zoro ever actually fought anyone with a 'grudge'? When he fights Ohm in Skypiea, he says that he doesn't fight for reasons like revenge. He's never had a personal fight I think.

Most of Zoro's opponents needed to be defeated for 'the mission', he even has friendly chats with Kaku and Mr 1 after their fights.

That's why my expectations are so high for Zoro in Wano, he has actual emotional attachment to the Wano people along with his connections to Shimotsuki.

It’s why I said this will be the first time it counts. Remember that Zoro still got enraged against Ohm for what he did to Chopper, then later Enel when he hurt Robin, and lastly Orochi when he killed Yasu. But in most of those instances, he was either compelled not to fight with anger, lost, or was stopped by a third party. This looks like the first time where his anger can’t be contained and is going to meet his goal to the end.

Whenever Apoo was in a clash with Zoro/Drake all he could do was block. That shows us his strong cqc skills are limited to just blocking. He's not skilled enough to exchange attacks in cqc.

When Zoro and Drake they were blocking and attacking. Apoo just block. Do you not understand the difference?

That means she won't ever be able to get an attacking on Zoro. Who is too fast and skilled for Apoo.

Apoo is a RANGED fighter. I've done this to death but let me use the Ace example again. Ace could not step to Blackbeard in close combat at all. One hit from Blackbeard almost broke his neck. Ace said this himself in the same chapter. When Ace opened up some distance he was able to use Hiken, Flame Spears, his whole arsenal basically and he did damage to Blackbeard. Why would Ace willingly get close to someone he knows he can't fight in close combat? Apoo is the same. Why would he willingly get close to Zoro when he doesn't have to? Again, he's a ranged fighter. He has no reason to get close to Zoro at all.

I really don't think this island looming over the capital scenario will be the ticking time bomb of this arc because of this-

What does he intend to do then, ask the citizens to evacuate and just dump it there? I think this should be resolved by 998/999 at best.
Before Kaido and BM are inevitably interrupted by Kid and Luffy, they could talk about their time at Rocks or give us some insight about Xebec.

Tbh, it's probably not. I think Orochi surviving and potentially having the ability to destroy Wano (knowing a secret on how to literally destroy the island) is the real ticking time bomb.

That being said, Kaido's info dump about new onigashima and a world of violence just screams more allied pirates are arriving at Wano (former Rocks members, BMP, etc) while the other WB remnants show up to support Luffy and counteract that.
