Its just a good way to make King seem intimidating, which I'm fine with, since Oda has not done the greatest job of making the calamities seem intimidating in combat despite obviously intending them to be.

I mean, probably. Doflamingo did a pretty good job of handling it with just his leg, so I don't think its the most absurd thing ever, especially since it wasn't a diable janbe move.

And gear 3rd, which is the move that Sanji used alongside Luffy to match Big Mum, is casually stopped pretty often actually.
