General & Others One Piece live action trailer dropped

That's where you misunderstood.

He isn't targetting the audience who are already in op - manga or anime. He knows it and we know it that those who made up this far will finish it.

His Target is to enhance the reach and attract those who aren't into OP as of now. And, let's be real - even among the manga readers there will be many who will give LA a shot or will even like it.
Aye, Oda isn't going to lose anything out of this so he has no reason to say no. Worst case scenario is that this series flops, the fans blame Netflix and then they go back to the anime/manga.

Dragon Ball didn't lose anything from having that awful live action film. Same with this series. Lol.

While I agree both are more popular than OP outside of Japan , current OP is also popular enough. I would like you to show some polls about this. I am curious.
I'm not referring to polls, im referring to anime fans i come across in real life. I live in Australia and i rarely ever come across people that watch/read one piece. I have family friends that watch some anime (they are like 13-16 year old) and they watch demon slayer and my hero academia. I mentioned one piece and they haven't even heard of it, i tried showing it to them and they showed no interest at all. Even my younger sister who watches both those shows tried one piece and said it was "boring". Film red had 0 publicity in australia did not see a single soul talk about it or a single advertisement about it anywhere. Apparently it was only shown in 1 cinema in the whole country. The dragon ball movie however was being shown in every local cinema and had plenty of publicity. Ive also heard people talking about the demon slayer movie. i had one friend that watched one piece (and loved it) but he dropped it in wholecake. Here manga reading is very niche anyway so the popularity of a series basically rests on the anime, probably a big reason op lacks popularity here

This is the reason i don't like American live action series since they try to make everything realistic and this restricts imagination, being not realistic is the core of one piece world so this will fail bad. Even cgi fails so live actions will always suck, also Americans will never stick to the original material and will always try to put their dumb opinions. Anyway get ready for a journey of lots of lgbtq and satanic worship.

And that's the mistake he is making. Oda is not authentic. Toriyama and Kishimoto didnt their global audience by trying to win over non-fans or other cultures. They just did their thing with passion and gave the fans the content they wanted, as seen with the broly movie. When something is good and appeals to the fans of the series, non-fans will hear about the hype and naturally become interested too.

I agree on this , op is strong only in Japan. Even in Germany no one here i know talks about one piece. I saw Demon slayer, one punch man merchandise in my city .

I feel people who watch op are older audience and who are above 25+ and most people dont like to admit they watch anime because of being mocked by their family or friends.

Thoughts? Namis wig looks kinda goofy but everyone else looks nice. zoro looks the best imo
Oh no

It's about as bad as any other LA anime adaptation, which just proves again that anime does not translate well to LA. The only LA based on manga that I kinda liked was Edge of Tomorrow (and I didn't know it was an adaptation until I watched it), and initially it was a light novel, so maybe light novels are easier to adapt, idk.

So many iconic looks butchered, everyone except Usopp has horrible hair (and maybe we've seen too little of Usopp yet), I can't help but cringe.

Sanji's look :whitepress::risitasad:

Some anime LA can be done right, like Rurouni Kenshin and Gintama.

But yeah, most LA anime are shit.

The photography looks amazing.
The VFX are ok
The direction looks ok.
The acting seems acceptable.

What I need to know now is if the key storytelling and emotional points of the east blue saga were respected.

There are maybe 20ish moments that need to be nailed to feel like we are reading One Piece, the most important one being the story of Nami and her asking for help.

A trailer is not enough, but I have hope.
