Nah way to this moment was bad
The honorable prince being used by some evil dwarf
Goku should have reacted and not be knocked out(plot etc)
All the big talk and then he blows himself up against the fat pink blob lol
Tbh, I have only watched glimpses of Bleach post the Aizen arc, but was Kenpachi ever something else than a bloodlusted savage (in a positive way)? What was Byakuya's character development? Is bleach about character development at all? For as much as I know, it's just Dragonball style, powering up and fighting, there is no deeper sense or thought in the characters there.
Nah there is but not to the level of One Piece in comparison. Byakuya had a whole thing going on between legality and family in the SS arc and that further developed in Hueco Mundo. Kenpachi doesn’t have that right away but he gets his development later on down the line in the Final Arc. There was definitely character development tbf with some of them. Of course dudes like Yama didn’t change much but that is to be expected since he’s portrayed as an old force that has upheld the SS for a millennium.
I wouldn't be reading One Piece if it wasn't for Zoro and his nothing happened moment. It's still at best an 8/10 manga, but I'm a huge fan of characters like Zoro, Kenpachi, etc. Serious dudes who can cut anything, and most importantly don't hold back when it's time to fight.
To begin with even at his best he was optimistically a 4 as compared to legendary characters such as Guts he's simply Guts 0.2 with comparatively extremely little depth, but still enjoyable. Now he has the personality of sheet rock and severely lacks development that he and his dream desperately needed. Too mamy of his promises/affirmations fell through to take his word seriously and he has been such an unimpressive side character for quite a while now so I can only go as high as a 2.
Average, the thing is that he was one of the first off his kind within shonen Gold generation(late 90s-mid 00s) so he got a lot of points from originality and the inovative three sword style.
Zoro is a simple and linear character, but he plays his role.
You are gonna be disappointed with him if you expect the complexity of a sasuke/killua/uryuu etc..., but if you just accept him for who he is, without expecting anything out of the ordinary, he is a good character.
Zoro fans think Zoro is like Killua ,sasuke, Vegeta lol
Zoro is just another henchman which Luffy doesn't need to be PK
The story continues well when Zoro isn't there.
We've had arcs without zoro, nothing changed much and story was even at peak (marineford, Impel down...)
What exactly did Zoro do really in NW?
Not combat wise...even combat wise
Oda failed to make kaido praise him highly next time Oden
Oda failed to make BM ,kaido and SNs praise Zoro specially for blocking hakai temporarily, all we got kid thanking him.
Oda failed to make Zoro presence be felt thought NW...he's juts there for some clashes and say one or 2 llinss
Exactly my point.
Zoro pre time skip was a great character, he was MJ at bulls.
Zoro post time skip is MJ at the Wizards.
Does this mean that the bulls period is forgotten? No, of course. But it makes the overall average lower.
If Zoro pre time skip was an 8, after time skip he is barely a 5, maybe a 4.
Because it's only Luffy's show
Though I tend to speak ill of Zoro to annoy his childish fandom but in terms on rating him among other shonen characters he's one of the best and anyone he says otherwise is a big lair or copping. Zoro is a solid 9/10.
