Bruh... You dont realize that everything that happens aside from ZKK is fan service.

Yamato stans thirsty - they get pointless Yamato vs Kaido, achieved nothing.
Luffy fans didnt get anything in 3 years, they get pointless Luffy vs Kaido, for the 4th time. Achieved nothing.
Law, Kidd fans thirsty - they get vs Kaido and watch the fight and throw in some comments about how great Zoro is...

The dark clouds befall Wano when Shusui was taken away, Zoro brought it back to vanquish those dark clouds.
The only important plot point is the killing of Kaido, everything else is fan service.
Zoro vs Kaido is the only thing that matters, it cannot be avoided. As Kappa said, it is fate.

Like you said, we can remove SNs vs Yonko and the raid won't even change coz at the end of the day
Oda was gonna have zoro vs King, SN trio vs Kaido/BM

This part is actually facts. People don’t want to hear it though. The rooftop fight really accomplished nothing except give some hype scenes (mainly to the two SHs). Everyone ended up with their real matchups in the end and Luffy ends up 1 v 1ing Kaido.

The most you can maybe argue is that the rooftop fight served the purpose of “weakening“ Kaido for Luffy to be able ultimately 1 v 1 him.

Not discrediting any feats or trying to call this fight “filler”. But it was definitely fan service. Way to boost some sales by having a cool little clash between the old gen vs new gen with the SHs getting most the hype scenes. 5 v 2. (Even though in reality it was pretty much a 2 v 1 lol)

Yeah because Oda gave one of the most awaited and important revelation Of Zoro’s coc in fanservice fight. Not to forget Kidd and Law who have been set up as Luffy’s rivals from pre timeskip were given important portrayal in rooftop.

I completely disagree with the idea that rooftop was a filler, but it's UNDENIABLE that the rooftop fight was nothing more than the biggest fanservice motirial in one piece. Story wise it accomplished nothing, it was simply to make fans happy: Zoro fans wanted the "Zoro vs Kaido" fight too much, and Oda went to incredible degrees to give it to them.
