Luffy has a special body in his awakened state. His fist wasn't blackened either, despite Kaido saying he uses CoA. It makes more sense to compare the same Thunder Bagua in different scenarios. Kaido's bagua in 1001 was the same as in 923. Yet in 1010, he saw a large stream of CoC flowing out of his club. Yamato in her fight with Kaido also had CoC leaking out of her club, which we didn't see vs Ulti.

Regardless of how much you try to downplay her, it doesn't change the fact
that she held her own against Hybrid Kaido and wasn't actually defeated at the end of fight.
It doesn't change the fact she possesses an ability hyped to be above all.
As a DF user, she also has the possibility of awakening as well.
Yamato having adcoc should have nothing to do with Kidd. She would've been able to copy the ability from Kaido so it is entirely rational. Especially considering that Luffy wouldn't have been able to use the ability if not for copying it from Kaido.
Kidd should first learn to use haki flow before he will get the chance to use adcoc

Made no sense that CoC played 0 role in the fight against Big Mom. Also Yamato having coating while Kidd doesn’t is pretty wack, but I think Kidd will end up getting at some point so it’s not that big of a deal to me. Once he gets it he’ll have an awakened fruit and coating so it’ll be worth the wait.

How am I downplaying her, I just said she was using ACoC against ulti because we saw the black lightning.
I don't like that she had ACoC and Kid didn't, when Kid had been build up for hundreds of chapters as Luffy's rival and Oda literally had him beat a yonko without ACoC, despite Luffy being literally 1 shot without it.

She was able not to be tossed around when she clashed with Hybrid Kaido, her offensive stats are the best part about her and even regardless she is probably low YC1 level.

Who cares if she has it whereas kid doesn't. You act like kid is going to start using it when he hasn't done so before and whether or not kid does decide to use it will up to him. Besides that he needs to learn emission haki first in order for him to use supreme king's or internal destruction for that type of haki. And since kid still has conquerors haki it won't be a problem for him to use it but he won't because kid doesn't focus on haki in his fighting style whereas Yamato does.

Luffy needed it because he can't bypass kaido's scales otherwise whereas kid's magnetic force was all he needs because kid thinks outside the box when he didn't have the level of haki like Luffy and Zoro or attacks that focuses on internal damage like law or killer. Kid stands right in the middle of them and probably was the most inefficient way to do damage but kid manage to make it work do to quick creative thinking due to experience.
Also what's this about about having expectations for kid? What expectations were you looking for in kid to begin with his haki, character development, devil fruit or his future plot going forward in this story? From what I stand oda did good having his character more flesh out in this arc showing he is willing to go up and beyond for his crew. You see a problem with kid's devil fruit being underwhelming compare to law but from what I got from that fight with big mom he was the most versatile one in that entire fight. Using assign to keep big mom in place then use punk clash to target her in multiple direction at high accelerated force, use punk Corno Dio that was bigger than her transformation and attack her with high speed magnetic force that not even big mom's strength or durability can stop it in it's track, assign s&n to pin her into place with such a strong magnetic pull even big mom had trouble getting out of it, and finally damned punk which many fans seen it as not doing much was actually powerful enough that she needed more souls just to deflect it back at him but kid himself amp up the rail gun that it even broke through her supreme king's which was use defensively. So if anything kid was the most impressive one since he did not have high levels of haki nor did he attacks that do internal damage but he overpowered them all ironically. Man this might the longest one I posted lol.

The point is that Kid was more important than Yamato and specifically had a role in wano that demanded he have any form of advanced haki much more than yamato did.
Yeah he didn't have haki training, but that was Oda's decision. He wanted Luffy and Zoro to be special in onigashima so he gave them haki training and nothing to Kid, despite the fact that Kid was also supposed to fight and beat a yonko. I think that's really fucking stupid.
Because you can still make Zoro and Luffy look special without destroying Kid's character and in the process, destroying Big Mom and her fight.
All Oda had to do was throw in a flashback at udon of Kid seeing shanks using advanced haki and have him state that he will try to develop such a technique to beat kaido.
