By the way I like the fact zoro view the overconfidence in an admiral against himself and luffy as seriously underestimating them (litteraly an insult and it make sense cause they literaly emperor level now) and also Zoro proxy hyped luffy in his speech to lucci and luffy returned the favor by proxy hyping Zoro against kizaru. It was perfect setup.
I never ever rated King too high, I always considered him as an average yonko 1, stronger than Kata but not than Marco, and I've hated all the hype around him. Zoro with Enma not fighting against him and once discovered the trick folded him easly.
Lucci didn't do a splendind figure against Gear 5, but the same did Kaido. I don't understand all this Lucci disrespect. He still is one of the men the Navy values the most, right under the admirals, and Oda made him compare himself to Kizaru in this chapter. He has the ability to one-tap a defensive master like Sentomaru, something Kizaru in this chapter could not do.
Am I the one in damage control? Because I rate Lucci above King? Or is it because I am not mad that a fight i was not expecting to happen did not happen? After ZKK, I am not expecting anything too special for Zoro anymore. A fight vs Lucci, who was the top1 rookie genius ever for Cypher-Pol and the top agent of Cp-0 is not looking this bad to me, instead, is something I'm excited for.
We'll see anyway, depending on how the fight goes, we will be able to scale Lucci accordingly.

he say lucci might be stronger not that he is stronger. Although I think AP goes for lucci while defense goes for king. king himself was no normal commender he is yc1+ and low top tier people only low ball him to downplay zoro. They gonna do the same for lucci after zoro low diff him even though he wistanded everything from luffy bar advcoc.

Saturn is the leader and the guy whose defeat brings more fame than beating Kizaru brings.

Kaido was the strongest, and the build up was there, if Oda wanted to go that way you are talking about, becoming the strongest of all, it would have happened in Wano. Zoro and Kizaru have 1/100 of the build up Zoro vs Kaido had.

There are no fixed match-ups yet. Marines just started invading, nothing is set in stone.
This is no different than Zoro vs Apoo. What was Oda's intent with that one should answer your question about this one...
Oda has shown Lucci's full arsenal back in EL, there is nothing new other than new variation of the same moves.

What would be Zoro reason to fight him? That we believe him to be a swordsman, and also that he was eager to kill Zoro during Sabaody arc, and humiliated him by stepping on his back. But remember what Enel did to Zoro? Stepping on his head? That humiliation was even worse, but Oda never cared about it.

You can't compare it with Zoro pushing Lucci outside of the building, the two having their exchange of words with Zoro saying Lucci that he is underestimating him, and in this happening the same moment Luffy start clashing with Kizaru. That's a clear set up for the start of a fight.
It's sad because is also a pretty cool moment but you are downplaying it as if what happen in this chapter, or what happens next if Zoro keep fighting Lucci doesnt even matter at all.
