The gap is widening. This is all fun and games until Oda sees that Luffy isn't the most popular character in the la and starts changing shit. 
Its happening again but this time with yonko title.
Oda wasn't joking after all. He was just stating facts when he compared Zoro to Big Mom, Kaido, and Onigashima the island of the strongest.
when Luffy was just starting his career as a pirate everyone "Roronoa must be the real captain using luffy and co to keep a low profil" 2 years later after luffy beat crocodile, lucci, doflamingo, Moria , kaido and become more famous "He is this strong and he arent the captain? he is very humble or he murst be the real deal".
Oda about to do same with yonko title kinda like he did with mihawk in 1058 stating he is just not interested in the title by having Lucci wonder why Zoro isnt the emperor, same lucci who prior denied Luffy as a yonko yet think highly of the admiral like @Topi Jerami stated so Lucci isnt a biased powerscaller. He can recongnize real yonko and admiral when he see one.
Like I have say next chapters will be interesting.
So many things that need to be done
-Make Lucci aknowledge the crew as emperor level
-possible clash vs lightsaber kizaru
-Take care of the upcoming marines
-since Luffy cant solo two top tier yet, he will be left weakened after Kizaru so Zoro get to save his captain from a superior foe again this arc.

I like how he sympathized with ebisu villagers for what they sufferrd he now is happy that they have clean water
I don't like that he doesn't have scenes with hiyori and ofc nothing about Ryuma's grave

Basically Nitoryu Zoro>>>Base Lucci,Lucci need hybrid to even keep UP AT all.
Santoryu Zoro to overpower Awakened Lucci since santoryu Zoro is even far stronger than Nitoryu Zoro.
Itoryu Zoro to blize/outspeed Lucci
I Havent added conqueor haki or ryou yet and thé fight look so one sidded.

Idk if some have noticed that Sanji had fully accepted Zoro as second of the strawhats and right hand of Luffy. He doesnt antagonist the greatmaster as he did when he joined since baratie. Sanji when he joined Never stopped challenging Zoro untill triller Bark where he learned his place in the hard way kinda like how Ussop Lost to Luffy in water seven.
Baratie arc to ennie loby ==> Sanji keep challenging Zoro for who is better.
Triller bark to WCI ===>Sanji learn his place After the Kuma situation and nothing happened, since then he accepted Zoro as the top 2 but keep challenging his autority. (Not power related).
-Wano arc==>with Jimbei's arrival Sanji is now focused on defending his 3 spot and as such had to stop challenging Zoro like before, now all their scene are full Gags.mainwhile Zoro become more challenging toward Luffy's autority After awakening conqueoror haki and take on a more active role as vice captain of the strawhats crew.
-Sanji cant believe there is someone strong enough to injure Zoro After rooftop untill Zoro explain that it was the result of an attack of two yonkos.
-Sanji brought Zoro to Chopper so the later can heal him as in he believe Zoro 's power will turn thé tide of the War.
-Sanji telling Queen that Zoro will win
-Sanji Ask Zoro to kill him if he turn evil as in he believe Zoro had his fight against King in the bag already.
-Sanji Sanji didnt complain about Zoro's first commender position when bounty was released but instead was complaining about his 3 position.
-Zoro handle Lilith and Sanji does nothing
-Sanji tell Zoro to chill in the control room with the captain while he go search vegapunk with the others.
-Zoro handle York while Sanji is cocking
-Sanji dont go after Lucci even when his code of Never attack a woman was broken
by the later but handle Kaku instead while Zoro take on the bigger fish.
As for Jimbei he accepted Zoro as vice captain prety easily and as such will never antagonist him.
The rest of the strawhats all respect Zoro and view him highly, only Sanji was too stuborn untill triller Bark and then wano.
Cheerleader Law and Kidd already accepted Zoro greatness on rooftop so when they join grandfleet they will know their place too.
Yamato is someone who respect strong people and since Zoro is a swordsman that easily rival Oden Yamato wont have any problem respecting the later.
The grandfleet already regard Zoro very highly since dressrosa when he flexed on Pica.
So basically by portrayal and feat not only Zoro is the right hand and first commender but the whole fleet and crew already respect him and will follow his decision .
It took Sanji long to accepté this fact, but like how Law and Kidd are no longer rival for Luffy in the path to PK, Sanji accepted his fate since his return from WCI and in wano.
Only hardcore sanjifans and Zoro haters think its still UP to debate.

He is literally built for better positions
Btw do you guys think he reacted slow attacking Lucci?i mean he should've realized that Lucci wasn't reliable he even said this chapters ago that contrast with his nature about not been confident with some people
