I reckon Oda does care about romance, there’s some background stuff with Franky and Robin going on and even Sanji found a girlfriend in the last arc. I’d say Zoro has the strongest ship bait with Hiyori atm, used to be Tashigi but it doesn’t seem like Oda wants to focus her and Smoker at all right now. Even though we are in the land of swordsmen.

I reckon Hiyori is a good choice:
She played the role of a villain, stealing money from evil men. Just like Zoro at the beginning, playing the villain to protect a little girl from Morgan and Helmeppo.

Hiyori acts like an older sister to Toko, while Zoro acts like Chopper/Momo’s older brother.

Hiyori is also dedicated to a craft, having played an instrument since she was very young.

Hiyori was very considerate towards Kawamatsu starving on her behalf. Similarly, Zoro has always shown great consideration for Luffy and the crew’s needs as a whole.

These are all great points. The parallels between Zoro and Hiyori are nicely drawn out.
Tbh, I wouldn't mind Zoro coming back and ruling over Wano as the shogun and Hiyori's husband, after all is said and done.

I wan't just indifferent to shipping, I used to vehemently hate shipping. If you've ever witnessed Conan fandom shipping wars you'd understand why lol.

But as I grew older, I almost want to see some of my fav characters be happy romantically. But only with regards to relationships that make sense. So for example, I don't care about any Luffy ship since he doesn't have the facilities for intimate interactions And I'd be totally against Perona x Mihawks since they have a parent-child relationship.

I'd like to see Pudding returning the kiss memory to Sanji and officially becoming a couple by the end of the series. They each deserve to find happiness with someone that understand the emotional trauma of an abusive family.

I also started shipping Zoro with Hiyori even though I know the chances of it happening are less than 1%. Because our boy has one brain cell But I like it more than Zoro x Tashigi.

I was never into it.


Maybe somewhere down the line I'd be more interested in it.

Zoro x Tashigi does have the most build-up to be honest. But I hate it too much to ever consider that to be a valid choice. Zoro x Hiyori is gonna go nowhere. Hiyori is just the princess of the arc and honestly, I don't like her very much. She is even weaker than Tashigi and probably gonna be crybaby too.

Robin is just too old for Zoro and not to mention that Franky/Robin stuff keeps happening. So, with no other choices left, I vote that Zoro remain alone for the rest of his life, with only sake to accompany him (Luffy and Zoro travelling the world together after everything is said and done is another option).

I dunno, Oda had Zoro and Hiyori meet in a very similar fashion to Oden and Toki...and the ladies were both 26 (and "older" than the guy).

Plus when she asked Zoro if he enjoyed sleeping with her, he didn't exactly disagree

Right now, his heart has a place only for the strive for greatness. To become the greatest swordsman who ever lived.

My hope is after he beats Mihawk, he'll start opening up to other aspects of his life's journey. Wano is the perfect place for his retirement. He could settle down there and teach the way of the sword. But he'd need to read the signals better than this The woman is literally cuddling man come on!

Pre-TS and Post-TS Oda is completely different. Pre-TS, Zoro x Robin and Luffy x Nami were more prominently (but very subtle indeed) featured. Post-TS, Franky x Robin and Sanji x Nami are more prominently featured.

Now, Oda has given World's most beautiful woman (and past sex-slave) to Luffy, so if he gives Wano's most beautiful woman (and an oiran) to Zoro, it won't be that bad.

But I still detest both LuHan and ZoRi.

I try to avoid it here and take it to the appropriate thread, but setting the record straight: I don’t think any Zoro ship is happening, and if one does happen, I say it’d be ZoTash, but even I don’t think they’d settle down. It’s more likely Oda continues to develop their dynamic moving forward, and I think it could happen in Wano should my idea of all the allies from the post timeskip arcs arrive.
