It's not 'a joke' it's just straight up disappointing.
Oda teased it all this time and then he is like 'nope I'm not going to show it in the manga because noBoDy wOulD Be InteResTed'.
Then what was the whole point of comparing him to Ryuma for 10 years, what was the point of Ushimaru's whole character and his uncanny resemblance to Zoro?
